Hello!

My beloved Epson Style Photo 1400 recently stopped turning on after having a "General Error" when trying to print (accompanied by flashing red ink and paper lights simultaneously). Now that it isn't turning on, when it is plugged in I can hear a faint intermittent beep coming from the back, between the power plug and the USB plug.

Can anyone help me identify what the problem is here, and how to get started with fixing it? I am guessing it has to do with the power supply, simply because the thing won't turn on....but correct me if I'm wrong!

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: after cleaning printheads printer doesn't work and emits a beep

Hi, I dissassembled my printer twice after cleaning the printheads as initially it didn't turn on afterwards. After swopping one of the tabs around I reassembled it and it turned on. It began to clean and after a minute or so the light went off and now it won't turn on and emits a quiet beeping. What have I done wrong? I found the replacing of the tabs very difficult to see in which direction they should be inserted. Could I have put one back the wrong way round?

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: small strip of plastic inside printer has broken how do I replace

There is a very thin almost transparent strip of plastic that runs along the inside of the printer that seems to keep the ink cartridges running backwards and forwards, or at least knowing when the end of the machine is. This has broken off (my son pulled it off) how do i replace becasue now the ink heads just fly across to the other side of the printer and make a terrible noise and wont return to tehir base!

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: Printer not accepting new black ink cartridge

The printer was flashing that I was out of Black ink, replaced with brand new cartridge and reset, but printer will not clear and accept new cartridge. Tried replacing the new one thinking maybe I had a faulty new cartridge, but it still will not accept the new cartridge (black).

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: epson 1410 all lights are blinking no movement no nothing else

Hi guys

all the lights on my epson keep blinking. Power light and paper and ink all are blinking when i turn the device on. there is no movement of head. just nothing

There seems to be no communication with lap top as i can not see the error on status monitor. It just reads " check all the connections"

could it be the mainboard issue?

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: Epson won’t power on

The red paper feed is a solid red. It won’t turn on when power button is pressed Epson tech said it could be a blown circuitry component (Epson response below). Does anyone know which part I need to replace?

Has there been any power outages in your area recently? Have you tried connecting the printer to a different outlet? Based on the symptom the printer seems to have a blown fuse in the circuitry components.

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: Epson 1400 print head can't be installed w/o Epson calibration dev

I was ready to follow your wonderful instructions to put in a new printhead on my 1400, called Epson parts distributor, said they would sell me the part, but because I was not an authorized repair person, the head would not come with a warranty or support. They said they use an instrument to calibrate the voltage , since this print head fits other Epson printers. I called 3 repair stations near me, and they basically gave the same answer. Is this hooey? Has anyone actually done the install on a 1400?

Epson Stylus Photo 1400: Faint vertical lines no matter what I do

My prints have faint, close, vertical lines no matter how much I clean or change ink cartridges. They are more subtle when printed on high quality setting, but still there. I have done multiple cleanings, including with water soaking, and nothing changes. Any ideas?
