The unit has only 520 hours on it when the issue appeared and had been well looked after.

Short of taking it to a local repair centre I'm hoping to at least understand if it's a loose connection or a faulty part. I have some electronics experience and have the correct tools - is there any hope attempting this DIY.. And if so is there a good source for repair manuals or hints on how to open it as there's quite few screws on the outside and would be great to have a hint on where to start.
