Elna 6000: How to test continuity on these particular cables?

Hi all,

I have 4 or 5 of these black boxes in this sewing machine. I'd like to test the continuity of the cables with my multimeter, is that possible? The cables seem sealed inside the black box.

The boxes seem to contain sensors, is that correct? They are all positioned in the machine so that moving parts travel between the boxes' 2 "columns".

I tried looking for the name and info about these but couldn't find any, also tried Google Lens and searching the part numbers written on them but no luck.

Thanks! Any help much appreciated

Elna 6000: Question re: pcb switch

This switch has 4 "buttons".

Buttons 1, 3 and 4 are in a down position (I guess OFF?).

Button 2 is in up, position, "ON".

When you see this type of button positioning on a switch is it:

a) there is a definite problem on the circuit board/somewhere

i) with number 1, 3, and 4?

ii) with number 2?

b) totally normal and part of its job, would need more information about the specific machine etc.

I am just practising learning :) The machine has a malfunction somewhere, I bought it in a broken condition so that I can have a go and learn.

Elna 6000: Disconnecting circuit board connector cables - stuck on last one

Hi all, anyone know how to safely remove this cable? I've tried walking it out for a long time, but it jams up against the little metal "levers" inside. I've tried lifting it up and over the levers but can't get it over. I can't see a release button underneath, but the angle isn't great to look closely.

Any help gratefully received, thank you
