Electrolux Refridgerator: New refrigerators made poorly?

I have replaced my refrigerator twice in the last 6 years at our seasonal summer cottage. The refrigerator is turned off, unplugged over the winter months. I was told when the last one failed (maytag) that they use thinner lines in the refrigeration system and that the lack of circulation of coolant allowed the line to corrode. The newer refrigerator ( frigidaire) acts like it also is lacking refrigerant. Is this a common problem? Is there a brand that doesn’t have this weakness
