E420-A0: Trying to program visio tv remote to Sony DVD player

I'm trying to program my visio tv remote to my Sony DVD player. My problem is, I'm supposed to hold down the “dvd” button on remote but my remote has no such button.

The circuit inside our Vizio E420-A0 TV, which receives signals from our remote, doesn't work any more. It used to, but it has stopped working.

I know this because neither of our remote controls work and the exterior buttons do work. I have been told this circuit is on the main board. If so, can it be repaired? Do I need to replace the main board or is something else causing the problem? Thank you.

Hello everyone!

I have a 42 inch Vizio TV (model number: E3D420VX). The issue at hand is that sometimes when I turn the TV on, it has a black and white picture. The TV plays whatever I’m watching (it also has sound when it does this) but just in black and white, no color. It goes back to normal after turning the TV off and then back on. It doesn’t do this on a regular basis though; it usually does it every now and then. the TV was purchased new in 2012 I believe around when it was first released. I think it may be worth knowing that this particular TV is mounted on the wall.

I turned on my TV yesterday and they started working perfectly fine then it turned off by itself I turned it back on after like good 2 hours and colored vertical line started appearing only when I turn on my Xbox that's hooked up to it it's the only time we'll start going off I tried with my we start doing that too and I try to keep my PlayStation start doing that also I need some help how do I get rid of them cuz I just got this TV

E420-A0: Loud pop no power / burnt board

I plugged in Vizeo TV and heard a loud pop. The TV now won’t power on. I opened the back up and discovered a burn mark on the back of the electric board, so I think I’ve identified the failed component but I’m out of my depth from there. Not sure what it is or how to replace it. It’s the black thing connected to the heat dissipator

I guess I’m wrong about tv lens, but the screen was hit hard, & is cracked where it was hit, & have the vertical lines showing in that area. It’s a Vizio E 420, & the question is can this be repaired by tv repair stores?

E420-A0: Why does my Vizio TV intermittently have sound but no picture?

I have a Vizio E55-E2. The screen will go off but the sound is still on. I can get the screen to come back on by holding down the mute button for 3-5 seconds and then pressing the menu button. The screen will come back on for minutes/hours and then eventually it will go off again. It is not a consistent amount of time.

I opened the back of the TV to look at the boards and the pictures of each board are provided.

E420-A0: No audio output via RCA or Optical

For many years, I have ran RCA cables from back of this flat screen, to my Carver preamp’s video 1 input. Recently, the signal went bye-bye. I tested all the pre-amp’s RCA inputs and all work properly. Thinking there might be an issue with the RCA audio out’s of Vizio, I bought an optical cable and an optical to RCA converter This did not work, leading me to believe the issue lies with the audio outputs on the Vizio. Has anyone encountered this? If so, what is the solution?

E420-A0: Why is my power board burning?

I’ve had my Vizio model M471i-a2 for about 4 years, and about a week ago it started emitting a strong burning smell, and then the top of the screen started having Black flickerings. Took off the back and saw a substantial burn mark on the power board.

Ordered a new board and put the new one in Saturday. Now (Monday night) the same thing is happening all over again to the brand new board!

E420-A0: Lose back light after 3 secs everytime

First it's basically the same tv but not, it a e420i-boamd I have replaced both boards “io and power supply" hopping for a quick fix. Then I went on to testing led voltage and all 6 hit 70 ish vdc for a few seconds then cut back to 40 ish vdc. Still have picture and sound on all boards and in different configuration. Basically do I have a cathode problem so it can't see voltage and cuts back to standby or do I need more from what ever tells the back lights to stay up and going. Trying to do research on the dim voltage coming from the io board but not having much luck. Any thing that would help would be great. Thanks guys

E420-A0: VISIO M43-C1 no display, blinking power light

so I repaired this once before. I purchased the power board, the main logic board and the lcd board, the problem was only with one of them, and I can’t remember for the life of me which board actually repaired the issue. I wanna say it was the main logic board, but I could be wrong. These boards are now double in cost of what I paid last time. Any thoughts on which board would have fixed this issue? the Power light will go on, then slowly fade out, then start blinking, I’ve done hard resets and it doesn’t fix it.

E420-A0: Vizio 75” LED TV Screen Issue

Hello,

I’m assuming that my toddler threw something and hit my 75” Vizio LED TV, but I wasn’t in the room at the time. The screen looks like this:

Is this something that can be repaired easily, or should I just be thinking about replacing it? It’s only 10 months old and still under warranty, but that obviously won’t cover the damage if it was my kiddo.
