Hi, I tried to upload a file with Calibre and the Libra 2 stopped working. I tried to reset it, but screen became white and flash began lightening. Now I can turn it on and off, but basically nothing happens, but screen is white and light is flashing. When plugged, PC recognized something but is not able to identify the device. Any idea? Thanks.

Kobo Clara Colour: Replaced Screen is Faint/Grainy?

I completed the screen replacement without issue. However, when I powered it up the screen has a grainy, or faintness to it. I did the Vcom calibration and nothing changed. Is there something else that should be done, or is this a faulty screen?

I need help troubleshooting my Kobo Libra Colour e-reader. It's completely stuck on the "Please recharge" screen and won't respond, even after trying multiple fixes including a brand-new battery. The white LED charging indicator lights up, but the screen never changes.

What I've Tried So Far:

Multiple wall chargers (5V/2A) and USB-C cables (known good ones)
Charging undisturbed for 24-48+ hours on both old and new batteries
Soft reset: Power button held 20-30 seconds (LED blinks)
Manual/factory reset: Page turn button + power button held 30 seconds while charging
Battery cycling (unplug/replug 20+ times while charger connected)
Inspected USB-C port (clean, no visible damage)
Verified new battery connector fully seated, correct model/compatible replacement

Current Symptoms (Same with Both Batteries):

White LED illuminates when charging
Screen stays frozen on "Please recharge" - no progress, no boot
Not recognized by PC (no drive mount)
No response to any button combinations

Theory: Suspect charging controller, display driver, motherboard, or firmware brick. Battery swap ruled out power issue since symptoms identical.

Questions:

Anyone fixed this exact "dead screen but LED works" issue on Libra Colour?
Could it be the battery management system (BMS) needs special reset?
Mainboard replacement viable?
JTAG/short-to-reboot possible, or is it bricked?
Kobo support dead-end?

My Kobo has been freezing when I go to turn the page, and I’ve had to keep manual lung shutting it off and rebooting it. Sometimes this happens several times even after rebooting manually.

My Kobo Nia is stuck on a black screen with three dots and a power icon with a line through it. I can't turn it off or restart it. I've tried holding the power button for 30 seconds with no luck. Does anyone know what this screen means or how to force a factory reset?

Dear iFixit Support Team,

I recently used iFixit parts/tools to repair my Kobo eReader, and after the repair the device is not working correctly. I would like to ask for assistance.

Product(s) purchased: Kobo Libra Colour Screen Assembly - Genuine
Purchase date: 18 Nov 2025

Issue description:
After installing the replacement part(s) following the iFixit guide, the Kobo eReader powers on but remains stuck on the “Welcome to Kobo” screen and does not respond to touch. The device cannot proceed to the setup or home screen.

Steps taken:

Rechecked the internal connections and reseated all relevant cables
Fully charged the device
Tried forced restart and manual reset according to Kobo’s instructions

The problem still persists.

Could you please advise:

Whether this behaviour could indicate a defective replacement part or a known compatibility issue.
Whether the repair part you provide is adaptable for my motherboard…as you haven’t mentioned and give me the choice before I place the order..
What diagnostic steps you recommend to confirm if the part is faulty.
Whether a replacement or refund is possible for the part if it is determined to be defective, and how to proceed with RMA from Hong Kong.

I can provide detailed photos of the installation and a short video showing the issue if required.

My N3060 NIA has a rubber membrane covering the power button. The membrane on my KOBO is so worn out that I have removed it. I can still turn the unit on using a tooth pic or match stick. Can I get a replacement rubber membrane/power button cover?

My Kobo Sage only powers on and functions when it's plugged into a battery pack or power adapter. As soon as I disconnect the charging cable, the device immediately dies. I've tried all the general e-reader troubleshooting steps, but the problem persists. iFixit does not currently list a specific replacement battery for the Kobo Sage. I'm looking for advice on further diagnosis, potential compatible battery sources, or any repair guidance the community might have.

Nook Tablet: The volume up and down button has broken

My nook tablet volume button has detached inside upon taking it apart and looking at it has broken an is no longer connected inside, can it be repaired fix by doing some diy on the old volume button, or by getting a replacement volume button to fix it, whichever option has to be cheapest method i have little income available at the moment, and if possible can u explain it with easiest instructions because I don't have alot of Knowledge on this an if needed recommendations for purchase of replacement part

Does anyone know what is the name or model of the battery ? I tried looking on AliExpress for spare parts but most are for the Kobo Libra or Forma.
