Hello, my Dyson v7 motorhead isn’t charging. After pressing the button to use it, the vacuum would flash a red light at the bottom for a short while before shutting off. The same happens upon plugging it in. Does anyone know what is going on, if so how do you fix it?

I just bought a Dyson V7 battery from ifixit. The LED color is different from the original battery. What do the different LED colors/blink patterns mean on the replacement battery? E.g., what color means it's charging & what color means it's finished charging & what color means the battery is low & needs charging. Thank you.

The motor is doing that, “on and off” power thing. I have cleaned and cleared all obstructions. Also noticed that it is not pulling anything in (suction) , but extra air is blowing back at me through the little vents.

Dyson V7: Battery used only once, doesn't recharge

I ordered this battery to replace the dead one on my Dyson V7 vacuum. Came when the package said it would arrive. A little weird to install; the screws don’t fit too well but if you open the bucket you can screw it in successfully.

I did as the instructions said: I installed the battery, charged it to 100% then waited 2 hours. I ran the vacuum until the battery ran out. All is well. UNTIL! I put the vacuum back on the hook in order to recharge back to 100% to calibrate the battery (as per the ifixit instructions on the website). My vacuum is now blinking red and won’t recharge. What the heck?! I chose ifixit beacuse I’ve used your products before.

What can I do to make sure my vacuum recharges and works correctly??

PS - Anyone reading this, you can get the official battery from Dyson and install it yourself with the guide on this website. Though it’s more expensive, it’s a better option getting the official product.

The replacement battery for my Dyson v7 seems to be stuck in a non-working state with a green LED on. The battery is a bit warm. This has been going on for the last several hours.

I’ve removed the battery from the vacuum and it remains in this state. It had been working for the last few days, since installation.

Is there any way to get the battery working again?

My vacuum cleaner got dropped and the suction switch popped out and got lost. I contacted Dyson but they want me to get the whole HEPA main body. Part no. 968676-01. Anyone know where I can get just the switch?

Ive checked the head, the wand, the bin. All these parts are working correctly. The motor appears to run fine on min and max but won’t power anything. Ie the roller won’t spin. But the vacuum still sucks air.

Have stripped down the actual connector and found the wires in Y shaped grooves broken but taking it apart further then forgot how the wires were routed after they split again at the top where they then are located around the top to re-join the wire in the extension wand

Because the unit is pulsing I took it apart to clean everything. In the process I lifted the head (the unit holding the filter) and now it will not go back to it's property position.

Hello,

My Dyson V7 motorhead origin always stops, not pulsating, it just stops working when I set it to MAX and use it just 1 second. It stops and the blue LED blinks.

To fix it, I simply put it on charge, even just 1 second, then I can use it with the MIN setting.

It seems that the device goes into a sort of security mode, and charging it unlocks the security.

When set on MIN it works just fine, the battery last long.
I tried to clean it and to change the filters, but it still does not work on MAX.

I am wondering if changing the battery could help, however, the battery seem to hold the charge pretty well.

Any thoughts?

V7+ animal powerhead only gets very occasional power to turn brush. Powerhead has been completely disassembled to the extent necessary for complete cleaning. Unit is pristine. No clogs or hair trapped around spindles. Perfectly clean. I think the problem may be in the swivel wiring, since it began as a position related problem that got worse. I need a wiring diagram for entire powerhead. Any experience and solutions to the same issue would be great.

Dyson stick vacuums have terrible battery life on Max mode, even with new batteries. I can’t even do half my house at once. I would like to run it off wall voltage. However if you insert the plug into the vacuum even if the other end isn’t plugged into the wall it will not run. Is there any hack or workaround? If it could run straight off the wall transformer I wouldn’t need to buy a new vacuum.
