Dyson DC45: Why does my Dyson stop working every 3-5 seconds

We have a Dyson DC45. It shuts off (stops working) every 3-5 seconds. Can this be fixed, by myself or at a repair centre?

The Dyson DC 45 ( I have shown DC56 here as it appears similar to the DC45) stops every 3-5 seconds when in use. The following is a more detailed series of the events which occur.

The Dyson is fully charged, when starting use with the brush head attachment, stops working after about 10 seconds of use.

We turn it on using the trigger starter. It stops again after about 3 seconds. We release the trigger and press it again. It starts and runs for approximately 3 seconds, then stops again. The sequence of restarting is repetitive until we give up in frustration.

Is there a "home fixable solution" or must it be taken to a repair shop? If so, where in the Toronto area can it be taken.

Thank you

Dyson DC45: Why is my DC adapter charger intermittently flashing

The last time I used my DC45 it was working and with charge. When I attempted to use it again, it was completely dead and the adapter charger is now intermittently flashing and not showing solid green (charging). I replaced the battery about a year ago, so should be an issue. The odd thing about this issue, is when I press the trigger switch the charges stays solid green as if it's charging (but it isn't)

Dyson DC45: Help with beater bar electrical testing

Hi all! I have my parent’s DC45 Animal Stick that I have torn apart. I can only find DC44 Animal info-but it is a little confusing (different pictures of the SAME models!! I am familiar with Dysons as I’ve torn down a couple of sticks and an upright and repaired them, so I have some familiarity with them. On this one, the beater bar keeps stopping intermittently (the vacuum keeps running without pausing) and there’s lots of suction. I have meticulously cleaned every possible thing I can (including removal of the small screw and beater bar driver and removing every single bit of hair & dirt.) I have cleaned every contact with alcohol. I have removed the Battery (Type B screw-in). I have taken the end cover off the motor (above the trigger). Now…..can anyone explain to me (accompanying pictures would be VERY HELPFUL if possible!!) how to test the battery, the vacuum motor, and the brush motor with the multimeter to determine exactly where the problem lies. I don’t know anything about polarity etc, but DO have a multimeter, and can get some help operating it, but I need to know where to put the leads, and what numbers I have to look for, etc. ANY HELP would be VERY appreciated! Thanks! Patti
