LG Dryer: New dryer not turning on

The heating element on my old clothes dryer recently failed even though the dryer would still run on the air cycle. I had a new LG DLEX4080W dryer delivered and it failed to turn on. I checked the voltage on the red and black power connection on the back of the dryer with my Klein ET40 voltage tester and it showed 240v. I cycled the 30 amp breaker just in case. So I thought OK, even though it is brand new it must have some kind of defect. A week later, they brought me another new LG DLEX4080W dryer and the same thing happened. I tested this dryer as well and also got 240v. I can believe I might get one new defective dryer, but I can’t imagine receiving two. But I can’t see how there can be anything wrong with my circuit if both dryers showed 240v at the dryer electrical terminals. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks

Midea Dryer: Door won't stay closed, still runs, taping closed

Insignia front load 4.4 NS-FDRE44W1-C (BEST BUY BRAND MADE BY MIDEA) I was doing my laundry yesterday and on my second load the door would not stay shut. I taped it shut and it is working. There is a locking mechanism and that is not locking but it is not preventing me from washing. I have found that part but I am wondering if there is also a catch. The door lock part is 12138200004802. I am trying to figure out replacing that will fix the problem. The customer service agent had no idea what I was talking about. The machine was purchased in 2021 so not too old but I can't find any images that are even close to what the latch on the door looks like to see if there is a simple catch I can replace. The door latch is a long metal piece clearly not compatible with the simple replacement parts I have found on line. Does anyone know how the door lock mechanism works and is it worth replacing to keep the door closed. I hate to do all the work to put the part in and have the same of the door not staying shut. thanks for any ideas!

Dryer: I have a defy dtd 58 tumble dryer that blew 2 thermal fuses.

I checked elements, both good. Changed thermostat, as a precaution, yet the thermal fuse blew again. Now i have found the electronic control board not activating Power On to the heating elements. what could have caused the electronic board to fail....beyond normal wear and tear. the dryer unit is a few years old, and this control board failed approx two years ago, which was changed. I dont understand why it would fail again??

Maytag dryer: Front Load Dryer Maytag Maxima MED6000XW2 - Shuts off mid-cycle

Roughly two months ago, my dryer started shutting off before the cycle was complete. Sometimes it would restart on it's own after waiting 10-15 minutes, sometimes it would not. Sometimes the timer would continue counting down even though it wasn't spinning/drying. I couldn't manually restart it without waiting the same 10-15 minutes either.

The only trouble code displaying in diagnostic mode was F04E04, which indicates insufficient power. I confirmed the outlet was providing the correct voltage and inspected the breaker, outlet, power cord, and terminal block, and found nothing abnormal. I Googled and asked ChatGPT and Gemini, no clear path forward for that trouble code.

I opened up the whole unit and cleaned out all of the built up lint, checked the exhaust tube even though I clean that yearly, and replaced the thermal cut off/thermal fuse, because the local repair shop said that was a common fix for most issues. No change.

I found a brand new control board for $50 so I decided to throw that in there. No change.

Then I decided to Google how to fix an overheating dryer, which produced a ton of good resources. I followed testing guides and determined my cycling thermostat was opening at far too high a temperature, but just to be sure I also replaced the thermistor. No change.

At this point I've cleaned the whole unit and replaced the cycling/high limit thermostat, thermal cut off, thermistor, and thermal fuse.

Next, I decide to replace the heating element, and found that the old one was cracked and a portion of the metal plate in-between the coils was bent and extremely close to the coil. I figured that when it heated up, the coil may be grounding out on the metal plate and shutting off the machine; and, that once it cooled off and was no longer contacting the plate, I could restart it.

But, even with the new element. No change.

I have unloaded the parts cannon on this thing, inspected the unit inside and out, and yet it continues to shut off at least twice during a cycle and I can't manually restart it for at least 10 minutes. The F04E04 code went away for a little while but is present again now.

Anyone have any ideas before I go dryer shopping?

Thank you
