Blind: How do you fix uneven blinds?

Every time I pull on the cord, one side of the blinds goes up before the other. The strings seem to be pretty tangled. Is there a way to fix this, without ending up in a pile of string?

Garage Door Opener: Sears garage door opener 139.536738SR3

The opener no longer works with remotes and only closes when you hold the mounted door bell button. I disconnected both sensory wires on the back of the opener meaning they should not come into play. unfortunately I still must hold the button to get the door to close. No shorts in wire running from door bell to opener and hooked up properly to #1 and #2 screws…..HELP.

Hey, guys.

I'm not sure whether this is the right thread or not, but I'll ask my question here anyways. Let me know if should be moved. So here's it.

My small Sydney home has just undergone an exterior renovation. I'm a DIY-er and I've taken care of most of the small fixes around the house, but I'm not so good with the windows. I've watched a couple of tutorials on the Web and asked around a couple of friends and my quest has taken me to the conclusion that glazing is a rather difficult task. I'd love to get another opinion here about whether or not I should try to do it on my own . Whatever your answer is, please provide me with some additional info on the topic, reference websites, guides and book suggestions are all welcome.

I bought a door hinge, but I don’t know how to install it because the part that attaches to the door frame cannot be screwed in. I tried unscrewing the screws on the back of the door hinge, but the hinge axial cannot be removed.

My window won’t open. The gears have shifted. I can turn the handle a bit but because the gears have moved it doesnt do anything. I've tried wd40 and to move it with some tools but nothing works. I dont have a ton of tools. Is there a simple way to fix it or to remove/loosen the carriage bolt?

Help! Does anybody have this? I need 11 cases to finish the flooring on our house. We did the master bedroom about two years ago and it's been discontinued. We haven't been able to find anything comparable . If you have it or know what comes close to it, please, please let me know.

This is my first time on iFixit so I don't think I have the right "device" but I couldn't find "flooring". Can someone explain to me how this works?

Blind: How to find discontinued Hunter Douglas parts?

I have Hunter Douglas Luminette Privacy Sheers that were manufactured in 2001 installed on two windows. All Luminette blinds manufactured prior to 2003 have been discontinued, which has been hugely troublesome because I just need one part, the "Universal Bulk Head Body." While I managed to find one site (Blindshaderepair.com) that sells this part (so I thought), it's been nearly three weeks since I placed my order and it has yet to even be marked as shipped. Two emails to customer support and many more voice mails (because they don't ever pick up) has not yielded any success.

I contacted Hunter Douglas about my problem and they responded, "Because the shades are from 2001, most dealers will not have parts to repair the shades, and we would not have a list of different 3rd party shade part websites that carry discontinued components. Due to the age of the shades, the only other option we can suggest is purchasing new ones."

For how expensive these blinds were, I feel it would be rather silly to replace the entire blinds simply because of one inexpensive part. I have also been looking for perhaps knockoff versions of the same part but have not been able to find anything. Any help is appreciated.

I moved to this new flat, and there seem to be an air leak from the balcony window, the leak only goes from the side where the hinges are! is there anyway to tighten the door so it could be sealed, i must mention that the rubber seals are brand new and the main issue here is that the window is not adjusted right, only problem is how to make that adjustment?

Where can I purchase the seal for thermal pane units? I would like to try to completely rebuild my thermal pane units of various sizes, just for the challenge of it, and of course to save money. I am unable to find who sells these seals as a separate item. Every search turns up companies that will repair the unit, or will provide me with complete thermal pane units, or I find videos of people drilling holes in the glass to remove the moisture, etc. Somebody obviously makes the seals and sells them to the factories that make the thermal pane units, but I cannot find a single one. Any links to a supplier would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sears Garage Door Opener: Garage door closes after opening

Hello!

Recently my garage door started closing immediately after being opened via the remote or the button inside the garage. After several attempts to open it, it finally stops going down again, or if you push it upward when it's near the top, it seems to stop it.

Anyone know what would cause this, and if there's a simple fix, or do I need a new garage door opener? Getting my car in the garage is like playing a strange video game, and one of these days it's going to scrape my car! :-(

My garage door opener is a Sears 139 65 3000.
