Dell XPS M1530: Why don't my key presses respond right away?

I've had my laptop for over a year, and it developed this problem recently. About once a minute a key press (or lifting a key up) won't respond until a couple milliseconds after I hit the key (and in the lifting case the key will count as being pressed a couple milliseconds longer than I'm really pressing it). This causes me to die a lot in games that need precise timing!

I guess this could be a hardware or software problem, I'm not sure. I'm running Vista/Ubuntu in dual boot if that's helpful for some reason.

I do eat while computering often, but this doesn't sound like food stuck in the keyboard, does it?

I've tried uninstalling programs that had been recently installed when I noticed the problem, but that didn't change anything.

Well, thanks for at least reading my problem. Have a cool day everyone!

Dell XPS M1530: No video on the LCD

Hello,

Im from Chile and bought a Dell XPS1530 with 8400GS as the video chip, it worked for like... 1 month until it didnt show image over the buil-in LCD of the Laptop.

Here is what i did, just to know about some problems with the microfracture of the soldering material, but looks like this isnt the case. The Laptop works great if i attach an External Monitor over the VGA port.

Did _shot_ de videochip with a heatgun and press it against the motherboard, but it still have the same issue, no video on the LCD but it does over the VGA port.

A week after that a friend of mine borrowed his XPS 1530 to see if the faulty part was the LCD, but it wasnt, my LCD panel [cable and everything] worked fine on his XPS, and his LCD panel [which is working] didnt show anything attached to my XPS.

No idea what to do next and no, i dont have warranty anymore, if someone have a clue of how to fix this would made my day, week and probably year.

Thanks in advance from Chile.

Dell XPS M1330: My XPS is dead. Tried everything. Dead. Help?

It might be the power fuse, or the hard disk, I am not sure, but my XPS recently became unresponsive after I closed the lid and let it sleep during my shift. When I reopened the lid and pressed the Turn on button, the laptop was gone. It evidently was put into some sort of deep sleep, and never was able to turn it back on again. I used 110V when I worked on it that time, it functioned perfectly, till it was put to sleep, and the world was never the same.

P.S. both 240V and 110V work perfectly with the device.
