Dell XPS 15 9575: Can a failed Thunderbolt Port be repaired

I have an XPS 15 9575 purchased two years ago. About 3 months ago one off the Thunderbolt ports quit working. Dell wouldn’t help since the PC is out of warranty. I am trying to find any help I can with this problem. Diagnostic help would be a good start. Is there anything that can be done with this issue or am I stuck with a non functioning port forever?

Dell XPS 15 9575: Nothing shows on screen after CMOS reset, what could be wrong here?

Have this laptop working great in the past, however, it stopped working after trying to upgrade windows 11 from 10, what happened are:

Only Dell logo shows up on screen, noting else comes up, no bios loading or anything, just Dell logo stays, so, I guess the CMOS battery needs to be reset in order for BIOS to be detected.

Disconnect the battery cable.

Discount the CMOS battery and wait for 30 seconds and reconnect it.

Connect the laptop battery back.

Press the power button, the diagnostic indicator light (the one at center in front edge) lighted solid for about 2 seconds, then after 1 or 2 seconds, the fan is on for about 1 second, then everything turns off.

Nothing shows on screen after step 4 above.

Try to connect the charger cable and redo step 5, same thing.

What could be wrong here? Quite frustrating.

By the way, the condition of laptop battery is very poor, only hold charge for a short of time and needs to be replaced though.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dell XPS 15 9575: Replaced the battery, WIFI card isn't being detected anymore -RESOLVED

Replaced the battery but the WIFI card isn't being detected anymore

Wondering if you guys might be able to help me solve a issue where we removed and replaced the battery and now the WIFI card stopped working. I can’t remove the WIFI card as it is soldered to the motherboard. Only parts I removed was the IO board cable and the battery to remove and install the new laptop battery.

Any ideas? Windows does not detect the hardware since the battery was removed.

Update (09/14/2020)

Manage to fix it. Not sure how. I took out the cover and IO board cable again and reinstalled it. Seem to fix it.
