Dell XPS 13 9300: Touchpad: Tracks and registers Taps but not *Clicks*

Good Day,

Just as the title says.

I have updated everything and even rolled back the touchpad drivers which is considered the PS/2 Mouse. Still no luck sadly. I can’t say for sure how or if there is any physical damage as this is my rather careless teenage daughter’s. Might anyone have a clue?

Please be Well,

Thank You.

Dell XPS 13 9300: Sticky keys on keyboard

I love the form factor of the old Dell XPS 13 and mine still runs great. But I am starting to see at least one key on the keyboard (and maybe some others coming) getting sticky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Are there any repair guides or others who have seen this and dealt with it?

Dell XPS 13 9300: Screwdriver for Philips M1.2x2 screw?

Hi there,

My LCD screen on the XPS 13 9300 got damaged and I am looking to get a replacement for Dell. The screen replacement process seems easy enough so I thought I could do the re-assembly myself and save on labour cost (plus with the current situation, it’s kinda difficult to obtain service anyway.

There are three screws, however, which seem to be Philips type screws measuring 1.2mm in diameter. It is listed here: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/sg/... as the “Display-assembly cable holder”.

May I know which Philips screwdriver would be most appropriate for this? I saw that there are #000 and #00 out there but they seem to be for 1.5mm and 2mm heads? Would like to avoid stripping the screw if possible (the user guide already adds a caution to avoid torquing the screw too much—I’m guessing it’s a really fragile screw).

Dell XPS 13 9300: Type-C ports not working. Battery dead. Motherboard lights flashing...

XPS 13 9300 USB Type-C ports not working. Battery dead. Motherboard lights flashing when charger connected.

Hi,

While living in North America In September of 2020 I ordered and received my new XPS 13 9300. I haven't been able to use it now for over two years.

I moved abroad and was using a stepdown converter to charge it which worked fine for a little while. Then I relocated again within the same country and suddenly the laptop would not charge even with the stepdown converter.

The charging cable light will come on and be steady when plugged in to an outlet (either in the stepdown converter or using an adapter in the wall) but when I connect it to the laptop the light on the charger starts blinking on and off steadily.

Before my battery depleated completely an error message came up breifly stating something about the system not being able to detect the charging system.

I removed the battery and tried to use the laptop with only the charger attached but the same thing happens. The lights on the motherboard flash as well when the charging cable light flashes.

I want to know if getting a new already charged battery might give me access to the laptop long enough to go in and reset the type-C usb port drivers since it seems that the different voltage in my current country of residence has confused the ports.

If anyone has any suggestions that do not involve replaceing the motherboard entirely (as that is not very possible for me at this time) I would really appreciate it.

I have seen other customers having similar port issues with the new XPS 13 9300 but I have yet to see any suggested fixes that the customer can do themselves.

I even discovered that there are "External battery chargers" available for older dell laptops so that the batteries can be charged seperate from the laptop itself but I have not been able to find one that is made to function with the new XPS 13 9300 battery.

Please help and thank you in advance.

Dell XPS 13 9300: Internal microphones only produce noise

I did a "cowboy" job on this soon after I got it to add a larger SSD. Afterward I noticed that the internal mics only produce loud white noise. I don't know if they worked before I voided the warranty (I don't recall trying to use them). Just wondering if there's something obvious I did to break them when I cracked the lid.
