Dell Precision 7520: Why is my laptop suddenly shutting down?

Hi everybody. I am using a Dell precision 7520 laptop, everything was working normally until about a month ago, when suddenly my laptop suddenly shut down. I took it to the repair shop but the mechanic couldn't find the cause. That incident doesn't happen on a cyclical basis at all. Sometimes I open youtube in about 7 or 8 google chrome tabs and leave it not touching anything, the whole 5 or 6 hours the laptop is not damaged at all. Sometimes when I open youtube and just touch the keyboard or touchpad, it suddenly shuts down. Until today the laptop could not boot. I press the power button, it lights up, the screen shows the Dell logo and the keyboard light also comes on, but right after that, the Dell logo disappears and the keyboard light fades to completely off, the power indicator light blinks from green to yellow and then the heatsink fan hums and then shuts off. Please help me diagnose what is wrong with my laptop. Its model is intel core i7-7820HQ, 32GB ram, 256GB Samsung NVME ssd, M2200M VGA. Thank you everyone for reading.

Dell Precision 7710: Clean under trackpad buttons

How can I get under the trackpad buttons (Not the ones attached to the keyboard) and clean them out?

I found a drop of honey right on the right-side button and some seeped in underneath. (Which makes no sense, I didn’t eat any honey yesterday and it was fine last night???)

Is there a way I can lift out the trackpad button to clean underneath?

Dell Precision 7510: Backlit keyboard stoped working

Hi 👋

After changing thermal paste I was putting components together and while installing the keyboard the ribbon cable for backlight was bent a little too much accidentally, now it had a small part of it that's seem broken, even though I tried to flatten it with my fingers, since then backlit won't work anymore and I get an error concerning touchpad when running the BIOS ' diagnosis, which I believe is normal since both touchpad and keyboard are connected to the motherboard using one ribbon cable (touchpad and keyboard work fine)

the cable is the far right one is the one for backlit :

Is there a way to fix it at home ?

Dell Precision 7550: New battery causing boot loop

I have bought a new battery from iFixit and after changing the battery everything works fine. Except it gets stuck in a bootloop and the fans turn on and off if I restart the machine without the power plugged in. The moment the power is plugged in it can start just fine and works. I also tested the old original battery which doesn't have this problem, which means there is something wrong with the aftermarket battery (EC handshake) after starting on battery power only.

Dell Precision 7510: Any way to replace the ethernet jack?

My laptop got slid off the table by my rambunctious cat, fell a couple feet then was suspended in mid-air by the cable in the jack. But now, the jack is all messed up and a cable will no longer plug into it. I did some searching and reading, and it sounds like the only way to fix it is to fully replace the motherboard. Just hoping perhaps someone has better info.

Dell Precision 7720: Dell Precision 7740 Heatsink Re-Paste Re-Pad

Hi all,

I have a Dell Precision 7740 with a NVidia Quadro RTX 5000 in it and I am trying to re-paste and re-pad it. I am thinking of Fujipoly for the pads and already have Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for the paste. I am encountering a problem in that nowhere online is it posted the dimensions of the thermal pads for the computer. I have tried the user manual and calling tech support to no success. I looked up the heatsink (FHD64), and all I could find were pictures. Based on what I could see, there seem to be different sized and thicknesses in their pads and different colors. Does anyone happen to know what the dimensions for the thermal pads on the heatsink and GPU and what the different colors mean?
