A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled. When i tried to install directx i got this message " A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted.

I have a Dell mini-laptop - model Inspiron Mini 1018 with a Windows 7 Starter OS, N455 1.66GHz and 1GB of RAM.

Since the day I've first used it, it has been extremely slow.

It takes softwares a long time to go up, opening a video with Media Player Cassic can take almost 40 seconds, browser windows are annoying, and I actually can't watch any Youtube videos since it is so slow it's stuck every half a second (not buffering, just stuck)

It seemed weird to me that Dell would manufacture and sell such a thing, and tought it might be just the way mini-laptops are, but after seeing it wasn't like that with other laptops, it guess it's just mine.

Would you maybe reccomend something I can do to get a better use out of this thing? maybe lower the OS to XP, or maybe there's a "lighter" version of W7 or W8?...

Hi! I have a Dell Inspiron 1012 notebook.

Though i upgraded it with an ssd and a 2 gb ram,its Intel Atom N450 CPU is terribly slow: is it possible to fix a more powerfull CPU on the motherboard ?

Dell Inspiron 1018: Displays only when external VGA monitor is connected.

The laptop displays on its MONITOR only when an external VGA monitor is connected. Otherwise, it emits 8 beeps, waits for about then 8 beeps again after about 3 seconds.

On its display, it shows a blinking cursor while beeping.

Hi,

I have a dell latitude 2100 netbook which is quite old and i want to revive that for my small projects, so i got the broken screen replaced and that worked fine for a month but after sometime it started flickering. and now even on slight mechanical vibration or movement the screen goes off while the PC is still running. You can get better idea from this video.

Now i dont know from where to start! Probably its the backlight power supply capacitor or loose cable, i dont know. Any suggestion is most welcome.
