Dell Latitude 7400: New battery didn't come with a connecting cable, how to fi

Hello! My laptop's battery is dead, so I bought a new one. The new one came and it fits, but it didn't come with a cable to connect it to the laptop. The previous battery has this wire hardwired in, so I cannot simply unplug it.

My question is: can I just simply buy a cable somewhere? I do not know how to wire or open a battery.

Old battery -- the cable needed is hard wired in.

New battery, no cable attached.

In case it's needed, this is where it plugs in.

Additional photo, if needed.

Thank you! Please don't hesitate to ask me for more pictures.

Dell Latitude 7400: Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 laptop no POST, stuck on Dell logo

Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1

I have a no POST issue where the laptop wouldn't boot beyond the Dell logo. The LED flashing sequence (3 red, 6 white) points to a "SBIOS Flash Corruption" issue according to this Dell support page, which is consistent with the symptoms.

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...

I followed Dell's instructions for performing BIOS recovery, but I didn't get the expected BIOS recovery screen:

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...

I also tried performing forced ePSA and resetting the RTC clock as mentioned in the following pages with no observed change in behaviour:

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us...

I appreciate pointing me in the right direction to fix this.

Dell Latitude 7400: No sound coming from device after updating everything

Hi, I bought this laptop used recently and it hasn't been able to play any sound at all since I opened the box. I've gone through basically every troubleshooting step I could find online. Tried Windows troubleshooting, every Dell SupportAssist option, updated RealTek drivers both automatically and manually. It can play sound through Bluetooth, albeit with a strange echo-y quality that isn't present on my other devices when I use my headphones.

I don't think there's much else I can do that won't involve opening up the laptop to get at the hardware. I've never worked on a laptop before though so I'm not sure if it would be smart for me to open it up myself.

Dell Latitude 7400: Displays Dell logo on laptop but no display post logo

When I press the power button, the dell logo shows on the laptop, then nothing.

But, when I plug an external monitor into the laptop, the device is actually booting into windows and is functional through the external monitor. In settings the only screen recognised is the external monitor.

I know the laptop screen is working as it shows the dell icon on boot but nothing else.

Also if I press the power button while holding down D it runs the colour test on the laptop screen it works fine, but even booting into the bios does not display in the laptop, only the logo + colour test

Can anyone help? Thanks

Dell Latitude 7400: encountered a chromium malware. Went to update bios and now wont boot

encountered "shift browser" that appeared to have taken over browser on my Dell 7400. Tried to remove the malware but it came back and when attempted removal again it disappeared not to be found. Saved off docs and files and attempted to modify boot sequence with USB flash drive to reinstall Windows and SW. Now am getting 2 amber flashes followed by 1 white flash with a black screen. Does this indicate a motherboard issue? Fixable?
