Dell Inspiron N5030: Is there a special tool required to reconnect the wide ribbon cable

Is there a special tool required to reconnect the wide ribbon cable from the keyboard back to the motherboard. It disconnected when I lifted the keyboard and I can't get my fingers inside to reconnect as the cable is too short and very flimsy to try to get it positioned back to the motherboard.

I noticed the 2 ribbon cables disconnected in the photos and was finally able to get the thin one connected, but there's no mention of reconnecting these. The thin cable seemed to go to the touch pad and the fatter one to the keyboard.

Dell Inspiron N5030: The computer will just not boot

Hello,

The computer will just not boot.

Tried loads of trouble shooting with some stuff found on line.

Set to boot from external USB, but it does not seem to "pick it up" and just sits there.

Could be it that the version of the Windows for booting on the USB must be a "bootable"version?

Thanks if anyone has any ideas-
