Dell Inspiron 530S: Suggestions for upgrading parts on a Dell Inspiron 530s

Looking at upgrading the RAM, video card, hard drive, etc. Just looking at getting my PC up to scratch instead of buying a whole new PC.

Dell Inspiron 530S: Auto detect entering power save mode

My screen automatically enters power save mode and turns black. I have tried all recommendations of turning off computer etc and moving mouse etc

It does not turn on when you move the mouse or enter. It remains black after saying it is auto detect and enters sleep mode.

I have done some research and found that it is relatively easy to replace, simply just plugs and screws. but when i search for the part to buy i see Model: vostro 200 dell inspiron 530s. I am worried about the "vostro 200" part making uncapatable with my pc. does anyone know if it will be compatable

Dell Inspiron 530S: Does not start at all.

1). It started smelling as if something is burnt.

2). When I turn it on, a yellow light appears instead of the usual blue one. Light on screen turns blue and immediately yellow.

Dell Inspiron 530S: Why won't it start

I have a new power supply and a new hard drive. The computer will not turn on. The green power light is on and the orange light on the mother board is on solid. When I turn on the computer (front button) the green power light in the back of the computer goes out and nothing happens. I tested the power supply before I put it in also.Why can't I get this computer to fire up??? Its been awhile but It was solved....Its a bad motherboard........Thanks for the help guys....

I have a problem with my Insppiron 530s. I'm not as well versed in IT, so I'm a bit lost in repairing this computer. I need some assistance doing it.

I got this Inspiron 530s years ago and it's fairly old. The first problem I'm having is the heatsink is noisy. I tried to clean the dust, but it didn't help. The fan is worn out. My CPU cooler is potentially broken, but I'd rather change the whole thing.

I also took the power supply apart, too. I'd rather change it out to be sure I don't have a unsafe power supply. Any ideas on a good power supply?

I need to find out what CPU coolers are compatible with this computer and ones that will fit my machine. I'm also curious what this paste you need is, too. I need to know which way the fans need to go, too. I'm not completely sure which way they go.

I also need to know where I can get these parts too.

I'd also like to add a video card too. I need some suggestions on what to buy and how to install one. My TV doesn't use VGA. Adapters don't work either.

Please help.
