Dell Inspiron 15 7579: No boot, no fan spin, but CPU heatsink is warm.

Hello, I'm looking for some diagnostic help. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7579 which randomly shut off and is now completely unresponsive. Inside looks clean and I see no signs of water damage. I have replaced the battery and after doing so, the charging light illuminates, but it will not boot. I did notice that even though it doesn't boot, the GPU/CPU die does get warm while charging. Any suggestion regarding where to look next would be appreciated. The charging port seems to be functional, based on the illumination of the charging light. I don't have enough experience with logic board repairs to be able to identify an individual motherboard components which may be malfunctioning.

Dell Inspiron 15 7579: I cannot unplug the battery connector

Hi,

I’m trying to unplug the battery from the laptop to work inside it, but the connector just won’t come out. I’m pulling pretty hard on the cloth part of the connector, but all I manage to do is detaching the cloth from the cable.

Dell Inspiron 15 7579: How do I keep the back cover and the screen from separating?

The screen is starting to come off from the back. Closing it will make it worse, if you can even close it, and last time I just had to set the screen against the lid and not move it. This will be the second time I will need to get it fixed. What can be done?
