Dell Inspiron 15-5567: Why do I keep getting this alert?

Every time I open my computer, I get an alert that states

“Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.

Note: This warning can be disabled in BIOS setup.”

I have gone to BIOS setup multiple times and it still comes up. My battery no longer charges, but my computer says it’s healthy. My computer is also running very slow, which is annoying. What else can I do in the BIOS setup to fix this problem and make so that my performance isn’t hindered?

Dell Inspiron 15-5567: Battery capacity counter recalibration

I have an Inspiron 5567. It’s 1yrs old and the battery shows ~27WH remaining capacity from 42WH (original).

The problem is that after bms reports 0 energy left windows shuts down. If I turn it on it says battery is flat, no more energy left bit still works fine. It can run 2 more hours with ~5000mW power need. So as I calculated there is 10 WH more in the battery. The same at charging. It reaches 99% and stuck there. 10 more WH goes to the battery without problems and then jums to 100% and finishes charging. That 10+27 WH from 42 is looks fine form me for a 1yrs old laptom mainly used from AC power.

I think the battery is ok only the bms coulom counting algorythm is driftied that much. On my other Lenovo laptop the recalibration is done automatically when I do a complete full discharge-full charge-full discharge cycle. I tried the same on this dell without succes. Is there any method or software to recalibrate dell battery capacity counter?

Dell Inspiron 15-5567: Dell Inspiron 15-5567 not powering on.

I have an Inspiron 5567 that I saved from recycling so no history or background on it. When attempting to power on the fan spins full blast for 6 seconds and powers back off. No blinking codes just a solid white light that I assume is normal. Backlight on the display and keyboard do not light up. So far I have tried, unplugging the CMOS and regular battery while holding down the power button, reseating the RAM and trying a different slot, trying a different RAM stick, doing a bios recovery thing I found online (but it doesn’t POST so it can’t do that anyway) completely removed the logic board and inspecting for corrosion/obvious missing components, and bathing the board in 99% isopropyl alcohol while gently scrubbing with a toothbrush to no avail. I got it to power up maybe a minute aT the most and it passed the POST maybe a total of 5 times before doing the fan spin thing again. But it didn’t stay powered on and would freeze in the BIOS or while attempting to boot into a USB. Is there anything else I can do or is this thing dead?

Thank you

Dell Inspiron 15-5567: Instructions showed wrong cable for power - Did I kill it?

I followed the instructions for replacing the display assembly, but found out that the indicated cable for the battery was the display cable. When I was reassembling it, there was that little pop and ozone we don’t want to smell. I can’t get it to power on now. I’ve tried reseating the battery and display cables, but it still won’t come up. No indicator lights, no beeps, no fans.

What’s needed to salvage this situation?

Dell Inspiron 15-5567: I already replaced the screen but there is still no display

Hello everyone.

As the title says, I already replaced the screen but there is still no display. I already tried connecting it to an external monitor and the unit works just fine (well, except for the laptop monitor).

When I start up the laptop, there is a very very faint DELL icon on it. The icon always shows on the start up.

Any ideas where the problem might be?

Dell Inspiron 15-5567: Laptop doesn't boot after taking apart a putting back.

So pretty much title but at first the fans started spinning full speed and the batter indicator lit up, nothing else. When I opened it again to look what was wrong, after disconnecting a ribbon cable (I think it lead to the monitor) I touched something with it and the battery indicator flickered, and now it won't even show signs of life. I think something short circuited but don't see anything on the motherboard.
