Dell Dimension 5150: Dell Dimension 5150 doesn't switch on

Hi, my dell dimension 5150 doesn't kick start properly. I have to unplug the usb at the back for it to kick start.

I have tried everything to fix it but no success. Do you have any idea please?

ok i have a Dell Dimension 5150 / E510 i first had the problem that i could not get my desktop to power up none at all ok so i went through the process of checking everthing then bought all new parts , new power supply, new memory ,new io panal and new cpu , so i went ahead an bought a new motherboard as well when it didnt fix the power up problem, but now it will power up and the power button is an amber color and it does not show the start up screen anymore an its just black a black screen. i have all new part and motherboard and it still is not working

Dell Dimension 5150: My power supply is getting power but not distributing it.

I am using a Cooler master 500 Watt Power supply for my Dell Dimension 5150. It appears that it doesn't have any bleeding capacitors yet it still can't distribute power. I am getting a Blinking Amber power LED. What issue could this power supply be having?

I have a Dell dimension E510 windows xp. It broke years back. The hard drive crashed and according to the computer is non existent. I would like to be able to have a a family member use the computer again. I know I need to replace the hard drive, but can it be replaced with windows 10, since xp is no longer secure online? Would I replace it with the exact same hard drive, then upgrade after? I am not a tech person so I am not sure what I need to do, or if it is even possible to upgrade this computer . Any help would be appreciated. ps. I understand that windows is not pre installed on the hard drive, but I’m not sure if I can upgrade to windows 10 from an xp after installing a new hard drive. I also heard that upgrading might make it run too slow, so would it be worth it to put in a new hard drive, and upgrade to windows 10? Like I said, I am not a tech person, so any help would be appreciated.

When I press the power button only lights 3 and 4 are green on the front and the screen is saying "in power saving mode- move mouse or press any key on keyboard" still nothing happens.

PS this is the first time I've powered it up in about 3 years (trying to retrieve old files!)

OK so, I have a dell Dimension 5150. I attempted to run an Intel core 2 Duo without errors related to the processor, The only errors I have are with my power supply. But back to the subject what I'm trying to find out is whether or not this system actually accepted the processor or if thats still part of the issue?

Dell Dimension 5150: My drives are not being recognized.

My drives are not being recognized. I have tried making sure the drives are plugged in, I have tried using a different connector, I have tried everything. The drives use the PATA Drive interface and also has support for SATA. Not even my dvd drive is being recognized. I have also tried going into the BIOS to make sure the drives are enabled. Everything seemed fine despite this matter. Ideas?

i have replaced the sata cord from hard drive to the mother board mother board light is solid green also but still has a black screen on the monitor the monitor is fine been tested everything been checked but the hard drive has not been replaced the post code numbers 123 light up solid green also power button lights up solid green but number 4 does not light up it is a Dell Dimension 5150/E510
