Dell Desktop: *Inspiron 3670* Do the 9th gen Core CPUs work in these from the 3671?

I recently came to have a dead Dell Inspiron 3671 with a i5-9400/12GB RAM but the motherboard is confirmed dead (amber 1,2 code) and the SSD can’t hold for long without crashing and burning with a hardware error -- I already dealt with the data as the owner wanted the data moved to their EHD on both the 1TB internal HD and the dying SSD, but the motherboard is a goner. I already confirmed the unit is just a lost cause but I want to put the 9400 into a 3670 with an i5 8th gen. From the research I have done the swap can be done but I need a 250W power supply (in the dead tower) and the CPU which I have. Has anyone here done this successfully given the other machine is dead and I need to recycle it anyway so since I have a free CPU I might as well use it.

If it helps because Intel had two steppings, I have a SRG0Y R0. the machine had a 2020 manufacturing date.
