Dell Inspiron 531: Inspiron turns on, but does not display

When I turn it on, the light is a steady amber with no beeps. However, the operating system does not boot even when the cables are secure. I think that it is an issue with the power supply or the motherboard, but I'm not sure. If it helps, I have Ubuntu version Noble Numbat. I have successfully booted Ubuntu before, but one day it randomly stopped working

Alienware X51 R2: Weird PSU light shuts down and PC doesn't boot

So a few days ago I woke up to my computer being in a hibernating state to which I tried to wake it up with the mouse but it didn't work. The lights of peripherals were on and the Power light of the PC so I tried to turn it back on with the power button to which it shut off.

It started turning on and 2 seconds later turns off and the PSU cord which has a blue ring light shuts down while the PC is off when it turns back on is when the computer turns on too.

I removed GPU it isn't it, I removed the HDD and it handled a few seconds more on but it kept on shutting down, then I removed both RAM sticks and reseat them but they were not properly seated so the computer Mobo started beeping twice for (No RAM Detected) but it stopped shutting down, then I tried separately in different slots and no Luck. Tried replacing with the original RAM sticks and it did the same thing as the newer ones.

I even tried different configurations like for example:

no RAM no GPU and no CD Drive with HDD only and with the HDD it beeps twice for no RAM detected but it shuts down quickly right after the beeps the first time and then it shuts down right on the second beep. So the HDD and/or the RAM being seated are doing the same things.

My mobo is model: 0PGRP5

Dell Optiplex 7090 Micro: Dell OptiPlex 7090 Micro SMD power button sourcing?

I have a Dell OptiPlex 7090 Micro on my bench. It has intermittent response to the power button. Upon investigation I found the plastic shroud that extends out from the button is broken in half and part missing (great design from dell...) basically the mechanical component that gets pressed is a hollow tube surrounding the power status LED instead of, say, a solid tube of clear plastic.

Well, anyway. I'm looking to source a replacement SMD power button so I can solder on a new one, but I'm having problems sourcing it besides the old 'look for a whole broken PC of the same model as a donor' route. Seems wasteful, and since it is a relatively new model, also expensive. I want to make sure to get an exact replacement as it needs to have the power LED in the center of the button. See pictures for reference. Thank you for taking a look!

Edit 2024-Dec-29 T:1932, uploaded image showing motherboard model number.

Edit 2026-Feb-20 - see Feb 20 update comment in the answers. Manually repaired switch (imperfectly).
