My De-Humidifier is flashing error code E1 and after a couple of hours of Continuous Operation there is only a splash of water in the bottom of the collecting Tank with the humidity display hardly moving from 55%.

According to the MEACO Instruction Manual

Fault : E1

Error Coil temperature error

Any ideas please?

Dehumidifier: Hisense Model DH-35K1SJE5 does not switch on | Diagnostic Help Sought

UPDATE 30 Jun 2025: There is no power in the red wires (circled in green). Also, the fuse (circled in orange) is blown … we only just discovered the fuse this time around. Ref. Photo 9. We can readily replace the fuse, of course, but wonder if it is pointing to failure of another component? Thoughts?

ORIGINAL POST:

When we switched on our plumbed-in Hisense dehumidifier this season, it worked initially, but had stopped working (control panel had gone dark) when we checked on it the next day.

We found a manual online but it does not address how to diagnose issues.

Seeking help with how to troubleshoot/repair.

Thank you

Dehumidifier: Why is my dehumidifier not working?

I have an off-brand dehumidifier that stopped working. The power wouldn't turn on, and the screen wouldn't light up. I took it apart and found a couple of small capacitors burned up. I replaced them and the screen has power again. I go to turn the unit on and it's like it goes to power up the compressor and shuts off saying "EF." The water bin is completely empty, and the float is definitely not stuck. I have no idea what else to check. I notice that the fan for it at no point comes on and I'm not sure how to check it. It has 4 wires and is def a brushless fan motor. It seems like the fan is not turning on which is causing the compressor to shut down but I'm just guessing. Any ideas would be helpful as I've already searched for info and didn't find anything.

Dehumidifier: Replacing the capacitor to the compressor in a dehumidifier

Seeking advice on replacing a capacitor to the compressor in an dehumidifier. The capacitor in question is a CBB61 3 wire 7uF 450V one, made New Tech. It is also rated at 50/60Hz

I have searched all over the internet to try to find one which is of the same ratings, with 3 wires to allow for a straight swap, however 3 wire capacitors do not seem that common, especially at the above values. I am instead now looking to swap it for a 4 wire capacitor or 2 wire capacitor and was hoping for some advice on how to go about doing this. The capacitor has one wire from the dehumidifier's main board which connects into it. 2 wires, a red and white then lead away from the capacitor to connect to the compressor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance J.

Keystone KSTAD70A: KSTAD70B Compressor seems to stay on inappropriately, starting icing

Hi:

I have the Keystone Dehumidifier Model KSTAD70B, it is very similar to the ‘A’ version. It has recently started icing-up and it appears it will run the compressor even when the fan is shut off. In fact, recently while it was seeming to run normally (cycles always start OK) I tested it by pressing the power button on the top panel, the lights went off as did the fan but the compressor just kept going. Per the ‘block’ schematic on the machine it would seem it is the power relay sticking that would cause this problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Eventually the compressor does shut off but only after it gets really hot . Is the relay the likely fix? I`ve already ordered a couple on ebay for $3 to try.

Thanks!

Tom

Idylis 70-Pint 3-Speed Dehumidifier: How do I replace this button?

Basically, I've had this thing for years and years, it's sort of a little ragged, but it still seems to take water out of the air, honestly it got left running during some dusty work and it's never been the same since, the lights for the fan speed have also given up the ghost. but that's not what matters right now.

What matters is the power button is completely obliterated and I'm wondering how difficult it would be to replace it, I'm coveting hack-y solutions because they sure don't give these things away, trashing this thing and purchasing a replacement is eating a big loss

Technically sticking a small object into the hole and poking at the raw button on the PCB kinda-sorta-sometimes works, but it's getting worse if anything, this button's days are numbered.

Also a concern: if I replace this button, how do I seal it from moisture? I feel like it's not a great idea to just drop a different button in and be in the same "Sticking a pencil into the hole" boat.

Dehumidifier: Dehumidifier comes on, but no water in the container.

My Challenge MDDN-10DEN7-QA3 Dehumidifier I've had for a few years has suddenly stopped collecting water. It will come on and cold air will exit from the top but even if I leave it on for hours it won't collect any water in the container.

I believe it may be dusty on the inside but I'm not sure how to open it up and can't really find a guide online, but any other answers would be helpful if possible.

Thank you for any help.
