D-Link DIR-890L: I have a new D-Link which I was told would solve all my slow internet

I have a new D-Link which I was told would solve all my shortcomings with speed. However, it was a waste of money… there is no improvement.

I have only one device, nothing else open, a MacMini, running 10.15, and the router is an AC1200 but it still takes 10 - 15 seconds for a link to open from an email or a browser.

I have cleared the cache, I did a utilities repair, emptied the waste, unplugged the router for a few minutes and changed the WiFi to the one other choice. Nothing changed. What else can I do?

D-Link DIR-890L: No ssid but wifi leds (2.4&5GHz) are on

I have tried every suggest option from support team but non worked. GUI works perfectly, see changes on led status but no ssid broadcast.

Hi all,

I opened this router, nothing obvious, input voltage is ok on every chip, nothing getting hot apart from main chip (but it not like red hot) so hard to say. Maybe some smd component is broken but without schematic verry hard to investigate...

D-Link DIR-890L: How are the antennae connected to the motherboard?

Hi, realize this router is a bit older but hopefully someone can help. Just purchased a used one online and one antenna is broken. Figured while I’m at it I’ll order 3 or 4 higher dbi antennae (8 or 9 dbi) replace the broken one and 2 or 3 other ones. The motherboard repair guide has been helpful but I can’t tell from the pictures if the antennae are connected to the board with IPEX connectors (if so what size?) or are those just solder points that are hot glued down (which seems very odd to me…)

Thanks in advance!

Jeff
