Chrysler PT Cruiser: Pt cruiser limp mode

Where should I begin to look for the cause?

This is really strange , my car shifts gears fine until I hit a good bump along the street. Once it hits a couple manhole covers or potholes the dash display flickers once or twice and the transmission stops shifting past second gear. I do not believe this is a mechanical problem because it always seems to happen when there's a few bumps or potholes? Has anyone had this problem and how did you find the issue? Where should I look,it strikes me as an electrical problem?

Chrysler PT Cruiser: Ignition will randomly lock sometimes, and key wont turn.

I have a 2001 PT Cruiser and i recently took my car to a mechanic to change my alternator. I got it changed, but afterwards, i encountered a new problem where my ignition locks and the key wont turn, at all. It was like this for days until later i randomly decided to give it another try and it worked! However, after 3 days of my car working fine, one day i am leaving work, get into my car, and the key wont turn my ignition again! Is there a reason why it will randomly lock up like this? Could it be that my mechanic messed with something and this is a result of that?

Chrysler PT Cruiser: Code reflecting the intake manifold & need to know where to start.

I recently had an issue where I started my car and it was idling weird but drove fine until I reached my destination. Then it started to rattle and idle hard and popped a code for the manifold. P340. I am not sure where to start in terms of figuring out if its the intake valves, manifold or the spark plugs. Maybe its none of those things but if someone could point me in the direction of some reasonable troubleshooting I would greatly appreciate it.

My 2003 PT Cruiser's new battery won't keep it's charge. After 36-48 hours of non use, the battery is dead. I’ve gone as far as jumping the car to start it, then remove the positive cable terminal from the battery, and the car dies. A friend has told me that it’s a problem with the altenator and that it needs to be replaced. Does anyone have similar issues?

Chrysler PT Cruiser: 2007 PT cruiser touring Where are the drain holes located?

Hi guys OK I am having an issue with my PT cruiser touring 2007.

I think its getting wet somewhere as the problem seems to be worse after it rains or during.

All the dash warning lights come on then they go off leaving the seat belt warning light on there it bongs 3 times then goes off then all the dials speedo temp & fuel all go off then come back on again occasionally the engine cuts out & I have to stop put it into park & turn ignition on which fires up straight away.

This is starting to happen more & more someone suggested it could be the drain holes could be blocked & its leaking onto the electrics somehow & causing this issue.

I think I have located the drain holes at either side of the car on the front which were just under the windscreen wipers reservoir both had about an inch of mud in them which I have cleaned one side when I pour water from a watering can down comes out of a small hole inside the wheel arch but the other it tricks out of the same hole but most of it comes out from behind the plastic cover in the wheel arch.

There is also a small hole central under windscreen wipers which seems to be running freely but whether this has anything to do with my issue remain to be seen.

Are they the drain holes or am I looking in the wrong place if so where should I be looking also what do you guys suggest I could use to unblock them please?

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance
