I work in a hotel, and someone over tightened a cable tie on the cable and busted it. I'm tempted to try and fix it for myself, but I've not tried it before. Is there any info out there for Changing the hdmi cable?

Doesn't turn on, no solid lights.]]> My OG Chromecast suddenly died. It doesn't do anything when plugging in USB power or HDMI. It was working fine a few weeks ago but then just suddenly stopped turning on. Every now and then I saw a few faint light flashes on the LED, but it stopped doing that now after I opened it up. I've tried multiple micro USB cables and external power supplies to no avail. Is there anything that I can do to repair it?

I don't want to replace it with more modern version because this one doesn't resample audio when I use it to stream audio via my AVR. I already have a 4K Chromecast plugged directly into the TV but it resamples all audio so is no good as an audio only streamer.
