I bought the Cat S53 off eBay from a person in Europe I’m from the US the phone is in good sharpe New”.. So I took the phone to AT&T which the phone supports the carrier. AT&T put the SIM card in the phone works it make and receive calls but can’t access the internet. When they went into Network & Internet, Mobile network won’t allow me to go no further. Caterpillar Phone: Cat S61 USB Charge Port Replacement

We have a Cat S61, it's not wanting to charge. My fiancé is going to replace the charge port. I’ve noticed there's not alot of information on this. Was hoping someone might know anything about replacing that on this specific model? Tips, suggestions, advice—- I'll consider it all at this point.

Hoping to place an order for the repair tools and any extra supplies (suggestions?), as well as the replacement ribbon charge port itself need for this today.

One more question—I've searched but this isn't my area of knowledge obviously, do we have to replace the whole ribbon or is there a way to just do the little metal charger port piece and reconnect it? Upon search for the replacement port the only thing coming up for it is the whole ribbon, wasn't sure if maybe there is a site for these specific things and I just don't know it.

Caterpillar Phone: CAT S61 only shows low battery screen upon start

I bought a used and defective Cat S61 thinking I could repair it. The problem: When starting the phone it shows the Android/Cat logo and shortly afterwards a battery low screen (low empty battery symbol that is crossed out). When connecting a cable it does the same in a loop (starting, Cat logo, battery low, turning off, starting again, …)

What I already tried/found out:

The battery seems to be charged, it has 3.82 V.
The battery has 4 pins, the two non-supply pins seem to have no electrical connection (Megaohms resistance) to each other, so it doesn’t seem to be a thermistor (or a broken one). I suppose it’s more likely the battery has an internal protection circuit and this is a communication port.
I can’t even get into recovery, it immediately goes to the battery low screen and turns off. Hard reset is impossible.
Charging port looks good
Running the phone via cable and without battery does not work. It very shortly turns on the screen and immediately turns off again.

Since replacement batteries are a bit expensive for this phone I’m wondering if replacing the battery could likely fix this or if the battery is okay and the problem lies with the phone (meaning I likely can’t fix it).

Anyone had a similar problem? Anything else I could try?

Edit 1 week later: Directly supplying the phone battery plugs with power from a lab supply did not work. Charging the battery outside of the phone worked but didn’t help with the issue. A new battery did not fix the issue.

Edit 2: I found someone else who bought the phone from me and promised to tell me the fix in case they successfully repair it.

Caterpillar Phone: Catphone S61 Won't Turn on After Replacing Battery

Disassembled the phone down to the battery which is a few external screws then two internal screws. After putting in the new battery It would not power on or show that it is charging when it is plugged in. Afterward I tried the phone with the original battery but the problem persisted. It was working before but with greatly reduced battery life. I'm not sure how to begin troubleshooting from this point

Caterpillar Phone: Screen is unresponsive during help animation introduction.

I have a Cat S60 phone and during the introduction help animation that briefly explains some of the phone features. It stops responding to touchscreen input however pressing a hard key such as volume up or down does still work as you can see some of the home screen around the boarder of the help animation window. I've wiped cache partition factory reset and rebooted phone in safe mode all with the same result. Also it would appear that the reset button does not work. I push a paperclip in and nothing happens… other than that everything seems to function normally. I have gotten the phone to work a couple times for extended periods but it always gets stuck there after a restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated
