Sony Walkman: Why is my Walkman WM-FX193 making a buzzing noise?

My cassette player has been making this droning, electric buzzing noise when playing tapes recently, not sure how to describe it properly but it‘s like an electric mosquito getting incrementally louder. I tried playing multiple tapes, ones that previously did not have such noise, and they all had it. The fm/am works marvellously still.

I tried swabbing the player head, and it got rid of the buzz for a short while and then it would come back again.

The model is WM-FX193.

What might be the problem here?

Sony Walkman: Sony Walkman WM-FX463 Blinking E After Removing Batteries

I actually have both a Sony Walkman WM-FX453 and FX463. They do the same exact thing. I put in batteries and the display turns on and the cassette player works just fine. All the buttons/functions work, volume works, it plays tapes, the radio works. Everything appears to work. But when I take the battery out, all of a sudden the display blinks the current time, then E. It does this for at least a minute for the FX463 and its been at least 5 minutes and it is still doing it for the FX543. Here are some photos of the capacitors from FX453, dont see any leakage, damage or any bulges...

Cassette Player: Walkman eats my tapes. Where can I find parts for it in GTA, Canada?

So, I have a Sanyo MGR-66 walkman, that constantly eats my tapes. I can tell that the belt definitely needs replacing because it always gets stuck on forward and rewind and it sounds a bit slow. Yes, I have tried using a rubber band, and it technically works, but it sounds really bad.

I've tried ordering a new rubber belt on eBay, but there's only 1 person selling the belt for my model, and the shipping time is very very long. So, I was wondering, does anybody know if there is a physical store somewhere in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada that might sell a belt for my walkman or perhaps would be able to fix it themselves?

Also, is there any other reason that my walkman may be eating tapes?

Sony Walkman: Sony NW-A55 input jack replacement needed

Hello

I have a Sony walkman which I have had for years and now the input jack is loose. I contacted sony and they directed me to United Radio in New York who said they could fix. Well they just called me and told me the input jack is no longer available from Sony so they are unable to fix it and they can only obtain parts from Sony but alluded that after market parts do exist and alluded that can be repaired. I have no idea what my step is. I can't find any parts for the walkman online. Not sure if the input jack is proprietary or not. Can any one point me in the right direction? Thank you

Sony Walkman: Parts or STL file for a yellow SONY WALKMAN Sports Solar

Hi there

brand newster enquiry here :-)

Would anyone here have or no where to get small parts for a Sony Sports WM F107? Mine which Im trying to repair as a birthday gift for my daughter is missing the radio tuning panel and cover and the lid for the external AA Battery. There are other sports Walkmans without the solar that look similar so Sony may have used identical parts on some models. Ive tried eBay for a parts only example however the prices are simply outrageous there. We also tried the Walkman restoration project in Sweden? (from memory) but they did not have any. Otherwise how does one find an STL file for this so as to get 3D printed parts made?

Thanks in advance

I have been messing with this for days now and I've basically given up on it, but maybe someone here can help. This cassette player is from a Chevy S-10, and It worked about a year ago when I last used it. Now, it takes the cassette, and clicks.
Cassette Player: Broke hatch on RCA cassette player RCD175C

Broke hatch off while pushing eject less gently in a dimly lit room. Pause button had been accidentally pushed and lack of sound was confusing. Alas I broke it.

Seems like this should be an easy DIY with a new hatch. Has this been tried before?

Update: On further troubleshooting I realized the tape player is fine and still works. I can manually put a tape in and it plays. It does not play all tapes this way though. Guess the hatch helps to line things up. Just to clarify the hatch is just the plastic piece the tape is slid into. Think I broke off a little plastic nub on it. They don't make it anymore as far as I could find out. (2011) I will take an image to illustrate.
