Casio A168WE: Casio A168WE strap clasp problem – keeps loosening over time

Hi,

I have a Casio A168WE watch that I really love, but I keep running into the same issue: after a few months of use, the metal strap clasp doesn’t close properly anymore. It seems to loosen over time and eventually won’t hold securely, which makes wearing the watch risky.

I’ve even bought several identical models to compare, but the same problem happens every time.

I’d like to know:

Can I repair the clasp (tighten it, replace a part, adjust it)?

Or do I need to replace the entire strap?

Is there a long-term fix to stop this from happening again?

Thanks in advance for your advice

Casio G-Shock G302: Some buttons have stopped working or are erratic

I have a digital Casio wave ceptor watch, similar to the casio G-shock with digital and analogue displays and synchronised to a time calibration radio signal. It is not a modern smart watch.

My problem is more basic, I believe. I think 2 ( buttons B&D) of the 4 buttons used to set things like the digital and analogue time are not working, or perhaps are hard to operate. I want some guidance on how I can: 1) check it is the buttons are awkward. Some one did manage to get me the right analogue time setting, so they MAY not be totally defunct).

2) What can be done if the buttons are no longer working properly?

Note, I have found 3 settings where these buttons should work: Adjusting the analogue display, Adjusting the digital display and the home city for the time.

I failed to adjust any of those settings…

I appreciate the detailed menus will vary from watch to watch, but throwing out what looks like a good watch because it seems a couple of buttons are not working well seems very wasteful.

I hope there are some general tips here. Note I have the manual to navigate my watch and it seems fine until I need to use button B or D.

The module for my Casio CFX-200 is not fully seated into the case so some of the buttons are not working. I see that the buttons on the sides slip and interfere with the leaf springs on the module, is there a trick to getting them out of the way?

Casio Watch: Casio ladies LTP-1130 - The Z-clasp won't stay closed

Had this watch several years, no issues, then after removing hastily, then jostling around in coat pocket a couple of hours, Z-clasp wouldn't stay closed onto stainless steel parallel-link bracelet any more. (It's a plain clasp, no extra closures on top.) Don't think any very small pieces dropped off (?) as still looks like photos of this model on internet, but can't be 100% sure due to hurry at the time. Bracelet is correct size, not too tight (so not caused by that). Found YouTube video of similar clasp (on a men's Rolex), which recommended slightly bending middle section of the Z , which I tried. Wish I hadn't as that didn't solve it. Managed to bend back to (approx?) how it was (2 sections fitting together with no visible gap), but still doesn't click/grip. Clasp (and bracelet) not broken and otherwise in good condition, though maybe slightly worn due to age. (I've tried cleaning clasp with damp cloth just in case dust could be an issue. - No luck.) Tried contacting Casio , they just said send it in. But rather mend it myself if it's simple to do??

Casio Watch: Tiny buttons with bad contact

The number buttons on my calculator watch Casio CA-53W were getting unreliable (many presses to get it to acknowledge), so I took it apart.

I’m unfamiliar with the how the buttons work (make contact) and how the button pad connects to the circuit board. I tried cleaning the contacts (lightly sanding with 400grit) but seamed to make it worse. The key pad just presses against a little strip the is stuck to the circuit board.

Dose anyone know what type of contact is going on here so I can attempt to fix it. I don’t even know what its called or how it works.
