Capresso Perfectea 260: Capresso Perfectea 260.03 Handle and lid breakage

The handle and lid on the kettle warped after a time, and the other day broke off entirely. Is there a way to replace these or do I have to buy a new kettle?

When I boil water in the kettle, it comes out smelling and tasting like chemicals. Is this bad? Is there any way to get rid of it? Does it go away over time?
