Canon PowerShot SX260 HS: Why won't my zoom lens close?

My zoom lens stays part of the way open at all times. It won't close or open. It's stuck in this position. The camera will turn on and run then the bell rings four or five times and then I get a message on the screen saying that "Lens Error camera will shut down automatically." It then shuts down.

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS: Why does my camera say “communication error” when try to import pics?

I was on vacation importing photos each day from my camera to my iPad. Then one day when trying to import the camera screen said “communication error”. Can this be fixed or do I need a new camera. Sometimes on this trip the picture screen on the camera would wave back and forth until I tapped the screen. Then it would be ok and I could take a picture. What causes this?

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS: Power switch is not working properly

When pressing the power button, the camera turns on, extends the lens, but then immediately turns off. If I hold the power button down, it will stay on, allowing a picture to be taken. However, when I release the power button, the camera shuts off.

Sounds like a problem with the switch itself. I'm very good at repairing things, but would like some suggestions before I open the camera. There is a replacement part on EBay for the top of the camera, but it doesn't appear to include the actual switch (looks like the switch is activated by a pin that moves down when the power button is pushed).

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS: Yanked off the Mode connector... now what?

So I was trying to reset the display connectors because I had the common problem of LCD screen going dark. But when I removed the back case panel, and had to remove the connector for the mode settings, which is attached to get the entire back cover off, instead of just sliding it up and out, I yanked off the entire housing. Is it ruined now? There seems to be no way to just pop it back into place.

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS: On and Off switch corroded

After many trips to the beach and I KNOW sunscreen/sand/sweat etc, my on/ off switch became really hard to work. I would have to press it really hard, or at a certain angle to get the camera to power on. Once on, the camera worked perfectly. Finally came the day where I could not power the camera on anymore. I know the switch or button either needs cleaned or replaced. Maybe the electric contacts have become corroded. Any idea on how to do this?
