Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS: The Battery Pack cap/clip has detached from my camera

the cap/clip that opens up to where the battery pack inserts, is detached from my camera as I have lost it, unfortunately. Prior to me losing the cap, I had already broke it off the camera, however I would always just clip it back on. But I had noticed that every time the clip was fully detached the camera would not turn on the camera would only turn on when the battery clip was attached to the camera, so now that I unfortunately lost the battery clip, is there anyway for me to turn on the camera. Is there a sensory issue?
