Canon PowerShot G16: Camera won't turn on after complete dismantling

Hello,

After following Tyler Koski's excellent dismantling guide in order to replace a broken screen and clean a gritty lens (fell off the Kilimanjaro, literally) and reassembling the whole thing, I found that my camera no longer turns on (it worked before, albeit the LCD was broken and the images dirty). I tried :

Using the "Power On" and "View pictures" buttons (all buttons click correctly, but no results)

Checking if my battery is charged (it is)

Re-dissassembled it, checking for any damage to any component or connector (nothing visible)

Reassembled it, wiping each connector with a clean cloth and blowing compressed air in/on any connector and component as I went.

After all this, no result.

Does anyone have any suggestions ? I'm quite attached to it...

Thanks in advance,

Alexander

Canon PowerShot G16: The piece of plastic at the back, next to the record button, unglued

This weekend I was in South Florida. It wasn't particularly hot or humid, but suddenly I noticed that the thumb rest - on the panel on the back of the camera, next to the red cord button, had come unglued. I found the piece on the ground, and it was stick enough to put back on. However, it isn't stable. How can I repair this?

Canon PowerShot G16: My camera lens doesn't work properly after it was rained on overnight?

My camera spent all last night in a huge rainstorm after it fell out of my bag on the way in the house without my noticing. When I found it this morning, it didn't turn on. I immediately removed the battery and the outer shell and left it in rice for several hours. I also recharged the battery. Now it turns on (HOORAY) but the lens doesn't work properly. It gives me a lens error every time I try and turn it on (except if I power on using the playback button). It still connects to wifi, all the dials and buttons work, but obviously that doesn't help if it's not going to do what it's meant to do— take pictures. If anyone has any suggestions for how to fix this (without replacing the entire camera) you would be a serious life saver. THANK YOU in advance!
