Canon PowerShot A620: LCD image screen not working. Unable to use menu and functions.

The LCD image screen on my Canon A620 has quit working. I am unable to set the functions or use the menu. Is there a fix for this? I had the screen disassembled and there appeared to be a small battery on the PCB however I can not find any information on this at all!

Canon PowerShot A620: How do I fix the photo "trigger" button (missing)?

Hello,

The button that you press to take the photo recently came off. I don't have the button. A local repair shop said it would cost $140 CDN to fix ($40 for transport to the repair location, $100 for part and labour). This camera is about 3 - 4 years old, and a replacement would cost perhaps $250, so it is difficult to justify the cost.

Can anyone help with both acquiring the part, and instructions on how to install it?

Thanks,

Canon PowerShot A620: Memor card error, card locked

I put in a brand new SB card and camera says "memory card error" "memory card locked". It did the same with the card I had used in it previously. The menu has no "format" line, instead, where format should be, it is blank and when I arrow down to it, it skips over the blank. I have tried 'reset' and still nothing. Both my old card and the new card work in my other camera. I have tried reset on the menu, but no change. Yes, I have moved the switch on the memory card. Since the last time I used the camera, it has been sitting in its case. It has new batteries. HELP!

Canon PowerShot A620: Any idea what replacing the LCD would cost?

I have the same problem with my Power Shot A620, 7.1 MP, s/n is: 0926105205. . No LCD. Camera works fine through view finder. The CMOS battery measured good. Not sure what PCB view was shown on this post but my schematic looks nothing like that. Could find no fuses. Any idea what replacing the LCD would cost? Probably cheaper to buy a new small camera . Is that the view of the PCB on the LCD or is it from the camera body? I am a retired Electronic Technician. Any idea what a replacement LCD would cost?

Canon PowerShot A620: 2 Problems: No image on the LCD and Memory Card Error

The A620 I bought at auction looks brand new but it has 2 problems. With fresh batteries, I turn it on, the lens comes forward, and when I open the LCD screen there is no view, but the display items show up, such as the L and P etc. so the LCD is ok but I can't see the subject through the lens, just black. On the top of the screen it says 'Memory card error'. I have tried 3 different SD cards and the message stays the same. When I push the Menu button and get to settings, the Format... selection is black and I cannot choose it to format the card. When I push the shutter button the camera makes little click sounds and no photo is taken. If I toggle the playback switch, it also says Memory Card Error and 'Card Locked!' even though the card is NOT locked. I tried 8, 16 and 64 gb sd cards.

Canon PowerShot A620: A really great challenge!

Hi everybody,

I've bought a used canon A620 with an immaculate and clean exterior aspect but... it doesn't give any clue to be alive.

The batteries are full of charge and the batteries contact seems to be in order, so I've decided to try to repair it, but how? I really don't know how to do it but, with your advice and experience, I'll try the task.

I had, and already have, an A610 which I used a lot and I can say, it's a pretty good camera, I really like its movable LCD, it is very comfortable in a lot of situations.

So... me and my screwdrivers are ready to start! ;)

Canon PowerShot A620: Ummm replace the CMOS Battery?

I have a canon powershot a620 it will not actually turn on. when the power button is depressed, the power light comes on, the lens extends, the screen stays black, and within a minute the power light goes off, the lens stays out and you can push the power button all day and nothing. Move the switch to view pictures press the power button, the lens retracts and the view screen lights up with the blue canon logo, within a minute the screen goes black, nada, zip, nothing. So in the trouble shooting guide i saw what looked to be the closest with no power. The CMOS Battery. I followed the step by step (very good) instructions. Which brings me to my question. Where is the CMOS Battery? I figured i would see a button battery and would figure it out pretty quick. ;P Which brings me to a second question if i may. Am I barking up the correct tree? Thank you for your patients with my babbling.
