shutter works, info on screen displays ok, when taking photo the screen shows backlight (but still very dark) ‘photos’ download ok on PC but upon opening they are all black. Must be sensor, but how to fix it?

Canon PowerShot A610. Press on/off, lense extends,

LCD screen shows canon brand, camera turns itself off

screen goes black with E16 in the bottom left of screen.

After 10sec camera goes dead.

Move slide switch to play back camera playback works correctly.

Canon PowerShot A610: Internal damage from battery leakage

Hi,

I would be very grateful for your help with a problem on the above camera.

I recently found that a battery had leaked badly inside the camera, to the point where the residue was visible around various joints on the outside of the casing.

The camera would not power on, so I have stripped it down and cleaned off as much of the powder as I safely can, given the delicate nature of some of the internal components.

Having removed the top cover, it was apparent that the underside of the ribbon connector, attached between the top cover and the main body, looked darker than it should, with possible damage to some of the insulation and a tiny hole in the centre near the multipin connector (I cannot tell if this is meant to be there).

Worse still, the ribbon connector block has detached from it's connection on the camera main body, with the ribbon still attached to the block itself.

It looks as though one end of the block may have been soldered to the corresponding ribbon connector in the main camera body, but if so this has also broken away.

Is it feasible for me to repair this component, or is it just too delicate a procedure without special equipment?

When I opened the battery cover the battery contacts fell out. Should i glue them back?

When I turn the camera on, there is no display of any image through the lens although the screen seems to be working because I can see all the menu items and tab through them and make adjustments.

When I turn the power on I get a reading on the screen that says "memory card error" and will not take a picture. Have tried a new SD card. Nothing helps.;

Canon PowerShot A610: Broken ZIF Retaining Clip on CCD Connector

I'm trying to replace the CCD and broke the retaining clip on the ZIF connector.

It's a 28-pin connector with approximately 0.381mm pitch.

Does anyone know a part number or manufacture so I can order a new one and swap retaining clips?

Canon PowerShot A610: Why menu page shows but screen and pictures are black.

The camera is pretty new but when it powers on it shows black view, I search on internet and I believe it’s shutter stucked . What can I do other than find a technician? It’s on perfect condition and the battery are good.
