So, i have dropped my canon A1200, on concrete. Not great, i know.

But now i have this huge issue, the screen is good, but i think lens broke.

When i'm on the menu it's all good and colors, but on when i want to take a photo, it just looks like matrix broke, it's not giving out any stable photos, just purple/heavily distorted photos.

I'll try to insert a photo later.

Please help me troubleshoot it and fix it.

I haven't opened it yet, it's my fathers camera.

So, I would like to ask: I don't have the specific batteries required for my camera. I tried inserting two batteries to test it, but the lens only extended slightly outward, and shortly thereafter, the camera shut down. Could you please tell me which batteries I should use?

We have an old Cannon Power Shot A 1200 I am trying to get working to sell it. How do I remove the batteries to replace them. They seem stuck and no place to grab them. There was some corrosion on top I cleaned off with alcohol. I am hoping to get it up and working. Can you help?

Canon PowerShot A1200: How do I repair a stripped Toggle Slide Switch?

The toggle / slide switch on this camera is broke (slides loosely between video / still photo mode, and the camera is stuck in video mode). Canon said the warranty doesn't cover it. Is this an easy DIY fix?
