Hi,

my camera 5dmk3 power up correctly but it returns err 40. could it be an issue related to the PCB bottom or the DC-DC PCB, what's your opinion regard it?

I tried to load / access to your canon eos 5d mark 3 parts catalog , but it does not loaded. Is it in progress or is it not available?

Thanks in advance

Canon EOS 5D Mark III: Replacing Mode Dial on Canon 5DMkIII

The button and metal face plate for the mode dial on my Canon 5DMkIII are missing. I lost them last December while running through the jungle, trying to keep up with a troop of chimpanzees. The dial itself is still intact and I've been able to change the mode by pressing a small pin into the button hole to unlock the dial.

I have a complete replacement dial/button/face plate in hand. Does anyone know how complicated it is to change this out or where I might find detailed instructions. . . . . .or at this point, should I just send it in to a professional for repairs (I have replaced components on a number of other cameras, with good success).

Thanks!

Canon EOS 5D Mark III: Water damaged dslr. What would you recommend?

I am thinking about repairing a water damaged 5d mark iii that I saw while browsing online. In the description it says that it will not power on. When I’ve repaired water-damaged phones, it’s usually been the charging port or battery that needs a fix/replacement. What parts in a 5d iii may need a fix/replacent?

Canon EOS 5D Mark III: No display except when I turn it off

This might be user error (PEBIKAC) or a hardware problem.

My 5D Mark III works fine, except the display will not turn on. All other features are fine. The camera takes photos just fine. Press Menu or Play or INFO, and the display stays blank.

But when you turn the camera off, the LCD lights up like normal and shows the ‘Sensor cleaning’ image! The screen is perfectly bright and looks fine.

This one is stumping me! I can’t access menu settings to tinker at all.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III: Is the bajonet purely mechanical or electrical as well?

On the inside of the bayonet (inside of the body close to the mirror) there are 3 small springs (I think that that is what they are called), one of those springs broke. Is it risky to remove the ring and replace a spring from another body?

I am quite capable with teardown but by no means an expert.
