Canon EOS 50D: Power on problem on 50D

Hi all,

When I place a fully charged BP-511A into my 50D, the blue light in the live view button lights up, even before I have closed the battery compartment door. When I closed this, the camera will not power up and the blue light in the live view button stays on. Sometimes the camera does power up and functions normally but the blue light in the live view button remains on, even after powering off.

I have cleaned all the contacts on my 2 batteries, the contacts in the battery compartment, replaced the CF card with a newly formatted one, cleaned the contacts on my lenses and the lens contacts on the camera body. I have also replaced the back up battery.

If anyone has had this problem, could they let me know the solution please. I would rather not go to a Canon repair centre as the cost would be beyond my limits.

I have a Canon 50d with a cracked display window. The LCD is undamaged and aside from the cracked glass, the camera works fine. How can I replace the glass and how much would it cost?

My memory card was removed and when put back in gave me an error about needing to be formatted. It’s the same card I’ve used for years.

50d almost unused due to a recurrent internal problem : when introducing charged batteries ( working on 40d ) small light doesn’t turn on and no way to use camera as nothing appears on screens/ small flat internal battery is ok / what could cause this problem a loose screw or a bad connection ( battery chamber is clean )

I own a used canon eos 50d. I manage to use it about 4 months before the display suggest an err 01 had occur and it has to do with the connection between the lens and camera. What's gone wrong and what should i do because as i consult canon service, they say it cannot be fix because for canon 50d, there are no spare part available anymore because it is too out dated. What option do i have@ any good suggestion.
