Hello, Got a Canon pakkage with Canon EOS 600D camera and two lenses; a 50mm-0,45m/1,5ft and a Canon EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS II. The 50mm lens is working good, but the 18-55mm lens doesn't turn the camera on. The fisrt two times i tried this lens, it was working. After that it didn't anymore. Took out the simcard and batterypack and disconnected the lens. Put everything back in place and the camera was working for a small period of time. Now the camera doesn't turn on with the 18-55mm lens; camera still works good with 50mm lens. Do you have any suggestions? thank you, greetzzz, André

Canon EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS II: How to disassemble and remove lens fungus from inside?

I have a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II which came along with my Canon EOS 650D and has lens fungus internally. I can't really afford to have it getting cleaned by a professional and I am not new to tinkering and disassembling things. The lens fungus affects my shots terribly, making the light all fuzzy and scattered.

I can't seem to find a disassembly guide for the specific lens either, those on youtube are for older models/versions of the lens and I am unsure whether how they disassemble it applies also to what I have.

Canon EF 17-40mm F4L USM: Canon 17-40mm lens, focus ring binding, missing shims?

Lens repair gurus - would appreciate your help!

Just repaired a 17-40mm with a broken front barrel (filter threads broken) which also had a problem with a stiff focus ring. I was hoping replacing the front barrel would remedy the focus ring problem, but it didn’t and I ended up replacing the middle barrel as well, but the focus ring is still very hard to turn. (A problem from before I started the repair.

Its not binding in any one specific spot of the rotation, and it isn't bent (checked with caliper). It rotates fine before I tighten down the middle barrel, but once its tightened down it starts to bind and become really hard to turn. The autofocus works perfectly fine as do all the other functions of the lens.

Could this lens have been disassembled before and had some kind of spacer left out? Or is there some trick or reassembly procedure i'm supposed to be following?

Again, thanks for any help!

Canon EF-S 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS: Factory canon efs 18-135 mm lens IS won't manually focus

Hello guys,

This started to happen after I got this wet (there is another totally different problem which started to happen at the same time with the battery). Anyway, it won’t let me manually focus. I have another lens, a macro lens, which manually focuses fine, so seems like the lens. Any possible fix on this or is it likely the water damage roasted this feature?

I believe I tried with another lens in the shop and it was also working fine, so again pretty sure it’s the lens and not the camera for this issue.

Thanks!
