Panasonic SL-362C: How to fix rubbing in motor area?

I am trying to fix my dad's old CD player to use, and I am having trouble with the motor turning the CD. The CD will almost never turn inside unless it's spinning vertically, and it makes a loud plastic-rubbing-on-plastic sound the entire time. When looking at the base where the CD goes in, it seems to be a bit lopsided, but I can't find a way to easily take apart the motor area to diagnose the issue. anybody have any tips? I can buy a new motor and laser block off of eBay, but I would rather keep the original parts for nostalgia.

Hello,

I’m having an issue with the tuning knob on my Sony CMT-CPX1.

When I move the tuning button up, the frequency decreases as expected. However, when I return it to the neutral position, the frequency keeps increasing on its own.

The same thing happens when increasing the frequency — once I put the knob back to neutral, it keeps changing instead of stopping.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows what could be causing it?

The unit is not currently working. I do not have the original battery pack or a 9V power adapter required for this model. I only have a 12V charger, which I did not use to test it to avoid potential damage. I opened the unit and found no visible issues inside—no corrosion, loose wires, or obvious broken components.

I have a boom box JVC PC XT3 oldie but goody I press Play about 9-10 times and the cd starts spinning for about 5 seconds and then stops. Cleaned lens, tried three good cds.

I tried to replace the laser assembly from a donor machine because my main CD player started skipping and stuttering despite the CD and the laser seeming pristine. The donor is a much better taken care of machine with sound issues so I assumed using that ones laser assembly on the older one would be fine.

I get the new laser assembly into the older CD player.

It spins up and the screen cycles the Walkman logo, But right as, or just before, it starts reading the files, it shuts down and stops spinning the disk. It does this with both the new and old laser assembly.

I've checked to make sure all the connections were clean and firm, none of the ribbons or wires are pinched or exposed as far as I can tell, the laser on both assemblies are, at least to the naked eye, perfectly fine, I've put in new batteries, and I've checked multiple CD's that I know should play, only to be met with the same result.

My parents want to listen to their old Christmas songs, but sadly the CD-Player gives a no disc error.

When I insert the disc it doesn't start spinning.

I already took it apart once "had to desolder the motors" made sure everything moved freely and tested both motors with an external power supply. In the video you can see the laser tries to focus and emits light.

Someone can help me what steps I should take next?

CD Player: KC-808 CD Player - disc drive replacement

I have a no-brand wall mounted CD Player, a KC-808

The disk drive broke, it spins but can't read the disk - does anyone know a suitable replacement part?

I disassembled it, but wasn't able to find anything about it (photo attached)

The side label reports M93-KA021D11B and the reader has a FF-030PK brush motor

CD door will not open. Has cd's inside. They will not load or play. Front panel buttons disc eject, play, door open do not work. Unit makes a whirring sound for about 20 seconds then stops
