Panasonic SL-362C: How to fix rubbing in motor area?

I am trying to fix my dad's old CD player to use, and I am having trouble with the motor turning the CD. The CD will almost never turn inside unless it's spinning vertically, and it makes a loud plastic-rubbing-on-plastic sound the entire time. When looking at the base where the CD goes in, it seems to be a bit lopsided, but I can't find a way to easily take apart the motor area to diagnose the issue. anybody have any tips? I can buy a new motor and laser block off of eBay, but I would rather keep the original parts for nostalgia.

Sony CMT-CPX1: Sony CMT-CPX1 – Tuning knob issue (frequency keeps changing)

Hello,

I’m having an issue with the tuning knob on my Sony CMT-CPX1.

When I move the tuning button up, the frequency decreases as expected. However, when I return it to the neutral position, the frequency keeps increasing on its own.

The same thing happens when increasing the frequency — once I put the knob back to neutral, it keeps changing instead of stopping.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows what could be causing it?

Thank you for your help.

Greetings from Belgium.

Sony Radio CD player and cassette player CFD-S05: Speakers No Longer Working: Any Glaringly Obvious Issues?

This is my first time self-servicing any of my electronics on this level. The tape and CD players both work, but no sound comes out. Got the thing open enough to take a look at the circuitboard, but wanted to see if maybe there's something clearly wrong for me to start at before I go wild goose hunting for my problem?

The unit is not currently working. I do not have the original battery pack or a 9V power adapter required for this model.
CD Player: CD player won't spin disc

I have a CD player radio (Disney DB3050-C) that will suddenly not play any CD I put in it. It's a clamshell style player and when I close the door, it just will not spin the disc no matter what I do.

Some information that might help:

The door is supposed to be spring loaded but the spring broke, it still latches closed but I have to manually lower it down to open it. That is the only other problem with it; the radio portion works fine.

On this model, it's supposed to display "00" if it can't read the disc or if the door is open. When I close the door, it displays a blinking "--" like it's trying to read the disc, but it just never spins so it can't. So it's not a dirty disc or laser lens, nor the door not being closed.

I have tried various CDs in various conditions, from old and scratched to brand new and nothing changes.

If I put a disc on the spindle, I can easily spin the disc and spindle with my hand. It is not stiff and doesn't seem to be misaligned or scraping in any way.

I received the player new and the CD player hasn't seen much use, so I don't think it's worn out from overuse. I also haven't moved it much, keep the door closed when not in use, and have never touched the lens, so I don't think I've done anything to damage it. I keep it plugged in all the time.

I don't really know what could be wrong with it. My only idea is that because it's from 2005, maybe it has capacitor issues that prevent the drive from working properly? I don't know. Please help!

Yamaha CD-S300: Unsupport message on Yamaha CD-S300 CD player

My Yamaha CD-S300 CD player is showing UNSUPPORT on the display whenever I put a CD in. It seems to display LOADING for a bit longer than usual and then goes to the UNSUPPORT message and won’t play the CD. I can’t hear any noise so I’m assuming that the disc is not spinning. Switching to the USB mode and then back to the CD mode doesn’t work - it then displays NO DISC. If I then eject the disc and put it back in again I get the UNSUPPORT message again. I have tried several different discs and got the same result. In desperation I even tried turning the player off and on again! (Didn’t help.)

Sony Radio CD player and cassette player CFD-S05: The speakers no longer produce any sound

I have this problem too. It was purchased in late 2012. Has less than 30 hours play time on it. Has not been mistreated or even rarely moved around. Played fine in January 2022. Sat for a few months unused. In May the speakers no longer produce any sound. Power, CD, cassette, FM all work fine. No sound through headphone jack. Where is the IC amp (on the circuit board?) and what does it look like? Are there instructions on where to buy one and how to change it out? I see how to take the player apart on in internet but that's it. Help me Obwan, you're my only hope! In other words, it would cost more to send it out, pay to get it fixed and returned than the unit cost new originally.

Sony CD Player: sony CMT-EH26 can do everything but read cds

I have this old sony micro hi-fi component system CMT-EH26, it has been stuck in the shed for a year and before then it could play cds just fine, but now when ive been able to take it out and clean it (it was covered in very fine sawdust) it can do all of the usuall functions but read cds. so, the remote works, tape player works (havent tried recorder yet) audio in works with my phone, radio, ect

but basically whenever i put in the disc (label up) it starts reading, then tells me theres no disc inside. ofc its a problem with the laser but idk how to fix it, or replace it because i cant find what model/type the laser is.

i do not plan to fix it myself, i only want to know how expensive the laser will be to replace so i know no technician is scamming me (the techs in my area have a very bad reputation, i dont think every technician does this and i do not mind paying well for their labour but, i dont trust it yk) so ill get the technician to both replace the laser and clean the inside because i dont trust myself either.

also its my first time using this website and i do not know how to add different models so i think its an only admin/mod thing so if someone could also add the CMT-EH26 model to the list, it would be great for not only me but other people 👍

thank you so much for reading, hope you have a good one today :3
