I just got a Brother PT-D210 label maker, and I’m having trouble getting it to work. I installed a fresh set of AA batteries (6 in total), but the machine either won’t turn on at all or only powers on for a second before shutting off.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

• Used brand new alkaline batteries (tried different brands too)
• Checked the battery compartment for any dirt or corrosion – it looks clean
• Made sure all batteries were installed in the correct direction
• Pressed and held the power button firmly

I haven’t tried using a power adapter yet since I don’t have the original one. I’m wondering if a 9V 1.6A adapter with center-positive polarity would work as a replacement.

Has anyone had this issue before? Any suggestions or fixes I could try? I’d really appreciate your help!
