I have a P-Touch H107 which is mainly similar to the PT-1010.

All of a sudden this P-Touch didn't print any text on the label anymore. It is feeding out the label when I hit the print button, but not printing text on it (see picture below).

What I have tried

  • Cleaning the print head and rollers > No effect (actually, they didn't look dirty.
  • Put in 2 different bale-cassettes to try > No difference / No effect.
  • Changed batteries to new > No effect.

Observation

When looking inside the device, I noticed there is a small block with 4 pins that can be pushed inwards. I believe this is the sensor for detecting the type of label cassette used in the P-Touch. In mine, one of the pins seems to be stuck inside, not coming out. I am not sure of this has to do with my issue, but I take this into account.

  1. What can I do to solve my problem?
  2. If the sensor block is the problem and needs to be replaced, where can I get the part?

A spring and a roller were found dislodged. I pushed the roller back into its bracket but the spring didn’t go back all the way. I couldn’t see how to stow the tail of the spring. As the head still moved in and out; I trimmed the spring so the cartridge wouldn’t get stuck again. Now the PT-E300 will see the cartridge and will “act” like it’s working. The label comes out blank. I have tried a new cartridge with the same results.
