Whenever we try to connect a bluetooth device to it (smartphones or a labtop) it stays connected for only about a second, before changing to AUX mode, where it then severs the connection again.

I tried resetting it by pressing the mute button for 10 seconds but this did not help.

The manual doesn't have advice for this specific problem.
