Bose SoundLink III: Bose Soundlink III Speaker randomly turns off

Hi,

Does anyone else have a Bose Soundlink III speaker? I have one and it randomly turns off for no apparent reason. I’ve seen others state they have this problem too but there doesn’t seem to be a repair or viable fix.

Usually after one shutoff, it won’t shut itself off again for a while, but it’s so annoying. Any solutions?

My Bose Soundlink III speakers were working perfectly a couple of days ago. Today I decided to use them but they were out of charge so I plugged them in using the provided charging plug, cable and socket as everytime before. They will not charge at all and the battery light flashes red constantly.

Bose SoundLink III: Why does speaker lose Bluetooth connection after playing for a while

My Bose Soundlink 3 speaker's Bluetooth connection cuts out after playing for a long while when it is powered by the AC adapter and fully charged. Sometimes the tablet or phone is still Bluetooth connected or loses its connection after the sound stops.

The remedy is to usually reset the Bluetooth list or do a complete reset and reconnect or pair the speaker again.

Can this be fixed? Is there any software update available to fix the Bluetooth issues?

Bose SoundLink III: Can I customize the enclosure on a Bose Soundlink S3?

Hey,

So I've had my Bose Soundlink 3 since 2014 and it doesn't owe me anything.

It still works well, but there is a rattle or vibration in the enclosure that I can't seem to get rid of.

I don't think the speakers are blown.

I took the enclosure and top/bottom plates off, cleaned it with a vibrating toothbrush with vacuum going to get the dust.

Put it back together with all the sound vibration dampening strips in place, and it's actually a bit worse than it was. Added a couple pieces of soft leather in the back as well to ensure it has distance from internal components and softens vibration further.

So my real question,

Can I take it back apart and cut the middle of the front enclosure out? Specifically all the spotted grill are, and just use the side and pieces for the screws to hold?

Would use a rotary tool or grinder.

Like I'll ensure to keep the parts needed to hold it together, but I don't move it around much and so I'm wondering if cutting the grill out, or removing as much of front and back enclosure as possible, may be a solution to get some sound quality back?

Potentially, could the metal enclosure be left off while the bottom and top plate are fixed in place however I can make it happen?

Would cutting parts of the enclosure off worsen sound quality somehow?

I don't mind if it's ugly.

Thanks.

Bose SoundLink III: Repair of the top piece for the speaker

I had some people over this weekend and I guess my Bose speaker took a shot. It must have fell off the table or something and hit the ground. The top piece that is dark grey and has all of the buttons on it is now not completely connected to the rest of the speaker. Is there anything I can do myself to repair this. It does not seem like it snaps back on as I push it together and it just pops back up. Thank you for your time!

Bose SoundLink III: no audio, pairing ok, connection ok, no sound , reset wont help

After 3 years Bose Soundlink III stopped working, tested everything following the users manual regarding reset actions but still no sound.

Pairing : OK

Connection : OK

Battery : OK ( green led when holding on/off button for a few seconds)

Music from connected device : OK

Volume to max : OK

AUX selection : led’s OK but still no output to speakers

In my opinion there must be an error in the amplifier area, there is only a little noise in the speakers noticeable when you hold the speakers to your ear (quiescent current).

Has anyone some experience with this error ?

Bose SoundLink III: Vibration after battery replacement

I have two SLIII’s, and just replaced the original battery on the first of them. Easy peasy and I only opened the rear side enough to get the old out and the new in. The new battery is working great so far, but now any strong bass generates an annoying vibration, similar to the sound of a misaligned cone in a loudspeaker. What could I have done wrong to cause this? The only four screws removed are tight.

Bose SoundLink III: Replacement battery does not charge

Hi everyone,

I just recently purchased a replacement battery for my bose SL 3 speaker as a first time replacement project. Now i bought the one from iFixit to have a trusted device at hand. After removing the old battery, and installing the new one, however the following happens:

When charging, the speaker displays the usual yellow charging light. However, even after hours plugged, it does not turn green. When removing the plug the speaker has no battery charge and does nothing. I checked the model compatability from the ifixit store and my model, and it matches to the compatible ones: 359495

After removing and reinstalling the replacement it still does the same. Any ideas on this or will a return be necessary?

Thank you ver much for any help,

Br,
