bosch: Bosch Fridge Freezer, freezer not getting below -1 deg C

Have a Bosch KGN 33V60GB/01. The fridge is fine, but the freezer only getting to -1 deg c. Have checked the coils inside near defroster, and they aren't frozen (but pipe from I assume condenser to coils is frozen up, just on the pipe for a few cm, then nothing. The rest isn't frozen where the autodefrost would be.

I can hear the fan when the door is closed. Compressor is hot to touch (almost too hot to touch). If I feel the condenser coils on the back of the fridge they aren't hot at all at top or on the rhs or anything. So it feels like the condenser is working hard, but not a lot else happening maybe ?

Bosch fridge: Ice/frost on interior back wall

Hello everyone,

I purchased a new Bosch fridge freezer and it is around 1 week old. Within the first day of turning it on there has been a build up of a thin layer of frost on the interior back wall (just in the middle, never at the top or bottom). Sometimes it melts and leaves droplets of water and then sometimes it becomes ice. This occurs every day.

I had a Bosch engineer look at it but they claimed that this is normal and all fridges work in this way today. But I'm a bit skeptical.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Bosch Fridge: Fridge only works with thermostats/thermistors disconnected

My 2007 (?) Bosch Logixx KTR18420GB/01 small simple fridge with 'Maxx Freedom Performance' has been erratic in its temperature control for many months. Using an external thermometer and ice blocks from the freezer, it was possible to keep it in use.

I recently checked all the refrigerator components (PTC relay, start capacitors, pump windings, thermistor response (2 off), and some control board component (capacitors, triac, diode), but couldn't find any signifiant fault (I did change the 4uF start capacitor as it had dropped to 2.9uF (no difference) and re-soldered one iffy joint (no difference)

By chance I found the pump would run and cool if I disconnected the two NTC thermistors (thermostats) with a starting wattage of about 60W quickly dropping to about 40W, as the start relay cut out.

But after exactly (to 10 secs) and reproducibly 15 mins, the pump stopped again. Then it started again exactly 45min later and so continued in this safe mode at about +3C, I guess to protect the fridge contents. Do other fridges have this feature? why are there two thermistors? could I use a universal fridge thermistor?

This is not a long term solution as the fridge will need a longer cooling time in summer or in heavy use and the only manual over-ride is to turn the fridge off and on again when it stops cooling to restart the cycle. (you can't change the on/off ratio by adjusting the temperature on the front panel)

Any ideas what else I can do, given that most of the parts are obsolete and no service manual is available online.

Bosch Refrigerator: Bosch Side by Side Fridge Freezer E 47 code

We've been troubleshooting a leak in our Bosch side by side fridge freezer for a while (model number KAD62V40GB/13) which we finally found was a blocked drain pipe for the excess water from the freezer, we've cleared the blockage, put the freezer back together and it's all working as expected, except for the fact that the front display is now showing E 47. Usually it would just display the temperature figures for the freezer and fridge (note these are not actual readings just what they should be). The fridge freezer appears to be working perfectly normally.

So I've no idea what this code means, Google isn't helping me and Bosch have been particularly unhelpful by not telling us what it means just that it needs and engineer.

Does anyone have any idea what the E 47 code means in Bosch Fridge Freezer speak?

Thanks in advance

Bosch Refrigerator: Continuous red light display on control panel of KGB86XIEP - brand new

Just bought a brand new Bosch KGB86XIEP and had delivered 5 days ago. Once plugged in, we let it run overnight and halfway thru next day before placing some food items in the fridge and freezer. Not a lot, just a few items. Anyway its now 5 days later and the redlight has remained on in the control panel on the door. The light grows in intensity when the doors are opened and returns to a "normal" red color when closed. Question: Is it normal for this light to be on constantly? We have same model in another home, yet that version is approximately 4 years old. Control panel is different display. Thanks for help :-) December 6 2025

Bosch Refrigerator: Bosch 500 Fridge Water Dispenser Acting Up...

Hello! I have a Bosch B36CD50SNS that's out of warranty and the water/ice dispenser flap/arm is sticking once engaged and not releasing. I'm finding very few resources online that would point to the culprit. My instincts from repairs over the years on other brands would be a detached spring or a broken section of whatever plastic framing takes the brunt of daily use. I haven't been able to find info on how to remove the cosmetic covers of the dispenser to gain access, and I'm apprehensive about jumping in with a putty knife or flathead not knowing how it's held in place. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks in advance!
