Black and Decker Pivot MAX: Loosing power after 30 seconds of use?

Unit is 2 years old with light use. Battery is fully charged, however unit is working properly only for bout 20-30 seconds after that seams to be losing power. Powering on and off the unit gives another 20 seconds of use. By switching on and off it can function like this for some time.

I bought replacement brushes for the flip up brush but I can’t figure out how to access it. I’ve unscrewed all the screws but can’t get it open.

My vacuum does not make contact with charger base for more that a couple minutes.

The problem is the fuse where it senses heat and it cuts it.

The problem is the type because it senses the minimum and it cuts it. I opened to see the fuse/regulator and it is inside the battery.

Does anyone can tell me where I can buy a new one? Or tell me how to fix it?

We have a 20V Lithium Pivot Max which has always worked great, but now the fans not turning, as if something is binding up the fan. Can you tell me how to access that area to clean it out? Or is there a simpler way to fix this problem?

I want it to work more than 15 seconds. My question is this: I cannot buy the Thermal Fuse .

Can I not use the Thermal Fuse? I want to short it so that it works.

They have tons of fuses/regulators I don’t know which I should get. Do you have one in mind?

Dear friends,

I have two B&D 20v vacuum cleaners. Both of them worked exactly 1 year and then had the same issue: work only for 15-30 seconds then are switching off. There are multiples reviews on Amazon about the same problem, thus I think it is worth to try to fix or at least find what the problems it.

The battery pack is soldered to the controller, thus there is no easy way to replace any cell.

How should I start? I do have a multimeter but do not have oscilloscope…

Black and Decker Pivot MAX: High Fan Speed and Noise (overspeed?)

It worked well for a year or so, then we noticed that it made a very high pitched noise like the fan was overspeeding. Also, the debris that we sucked up was shooting out the rear screen. B&D sent us a new unit, but I’m wondering if this one can’t be fixed? On the new one, when it’s switched on, the fan turns on immediately, the broken one sort of “spools up” instead of starting at max power, but then seems to overspeed. It still sucks up, but shoots everything out the rear cooler screen. The wires seems to be connected properly still.

I don’t know if something broke or got lose. But the canister door won’t stay shut. A small metal tube fell out, it might have been vacuumed up or was it part of the assembly?

I've had 2 of these, and the same problem keeps happening. Where can I get replacement parts? The piece that holds the motor in place always breaks due to the torque and gyroscopic forces, and then when I run it, parts rub against each other to make a burning plastic smell. I've tried glueing it, but it never holds.
