hi, another day another problem. My multimeter is without battery so I am unable to test continuity or battery charge. This phone belongs to a friend and he's asked me to try and fix it..this is not a phone I am selling which is why I ask (usually I will do my own research but this time I haven't found a solution)(and no this is not the complete piece of junk I did buy today!)

His story is the phone suddenly turned off. When I connect to mains charger you get a solid red light for about 30 seconds then the red light blinks four times, then off for 4 seconds. No display, no warmth on the battery. I have checked the pins for the dock and the battery, visually look ok. Taken the phone apart, the tab for warranty was still intact, no idea where water sticker may be but no signs of corrosion.

What I've tried so far... put on charger, battery removed for a few minutes then replaced (got that idea from a forum) plug in to mac, hold power button for very long time (also from forum)

I've put the bb disc in the mac, but think it's a windows thing.. am I wrong? either way the mac didn't see the phone via USB but the red light is now constantly on.

The forum mention that a completely dead battery needs to be "trickle charged" back to life..

no.1 buy new battery..... any other pearls of wisdom? As you know I fix iphone 3G's so this is not my thing. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.x

i was charging my bb bold one day and all of a sudden the back-light went off n since then it is always dim and cant see anything except in dark places.

threw bb to wall cant boot no light nothing.

-keeping it plugged and putting battery in, removing waiting30secs and repeating procedure leads nowhere.

-keep escape pressed for safemode boot doesnt work

-keep mute button pressed 30secs doesnt work

mystery selfhealings

-keep 10 hours offline and repeat above doesnt work

next appreaoch keep 24hours ofline and repeat above

-no recognition of usb in computer link

-wahts broken ?

My blackberry 9000 was working perfectly without any problems but the battery drained and it suddenly switched off, i looked for the charger, (weak charger) and i kept the phone on it till it started again, there was a message and i wanted to read it, so i started chatting again, and the phone turned off again, i left it to charge so it started but this time when it started i just put it on stand by mode and went to sleep, in the morning it wasn't working at all, and when i do a battery pull and place it back, the red LED comes on for 10 seconds then nothing else happens, i took it to a shop and they told me that the Power Management IC has to be replaced, it cost me US $40 and my friends told me it will happen a lot, so how to avoid this happening again ? It also fell 3-4 times the same day, and i used it once with my wet hand. So which one of these the reason for damaging the Power IC, or is there other reasons ?

The led keeps on blinking once I insert the battery yet it wont turn on.. the phone gets hot after some few minutes... The problem started when the phone battery went low and it shutdow I tried chargin with no succession.. please help me..

BlackBerry Bold 9000: tracker ball works left right but not up/down

i can track ball left/right accross top line of menu and enter menu item if i press trackerball but can`t scroll down on any menu item or down on front page so can`t access text messages.

do i need to clean or replace tracker ball or something else?
