Benq W1110: Looking for Fan replacement for Benq W1110

Dears,

I own the Benq W1110 since many years, I does it job and I already managed to do some repairs.

Nowadays the projector is making a loud noise after some time.

It sounds like one of the fans is broken.

The noise does not start immediately, it only starts after the projector reaches a certain temperature. I can immediately trigger it, if I put the configuration mode to "high altitude".

Obviously it happens once the fans go to higher speed, or not sure, maybe not all fans are spinning from the beginning and some are only activated at higher temperature.

Btw., there are three fans:

(1) SUNON PBT GF30 FR(30 40)

(2) SUNON PBT-GF30 FR(17)

(3) AUB0712H-C

What did I already try?

I cleaned the projector

I cleaned the fans

I looked for broken parts or something else which could cause vibration

I removed the fans and tested each fan separately by powering it with 12V - all seem to work fine

I contacted the vendor - they have been willing but could not help

Even if I did not find a broken fan, I still think one of it has issues, so I would like to replace it. Unfortunately I have no idea which one could be responsible.

Does anyone have another idea what else I could try?

To make things worse, I was not able to find a replacement for two of the fans, though the third fan is available on Aliexpress.

Could anyone help with the fans (1) and (2)? I assume Sunon have changed the product naming, would be great to get the datasheet of the fans so I could try to find a different one with the same specs.

Thanks@all

Regards

Daniel

Benq MW632ST: Supposedly "new" projector, LAMP warning, no image

Hi! I just unboxed a supposedly "new" Amazon-bought projector, a new box, all manuals and cables present, in a pristine state, and even a brand-new smell. It turned on dimly for a few seconds, then the LAMP light came on and the unit did not turn on again. Fan spins and the beep starting tone is heard. Took the cover off, projector looks completely new. Took the lamp out, completely new, with no heat marks, and measured resistance between terminals: zero ohms. No smells or signs of use inside the projector.

I have intermediate electronics knowledge, but no projector experience. Is there any other thing I can try, for example, a way to test the lamp ballast output?

Thank you

PS: The projector is outside of the returning window time.

PS: Tried connecting an RS-232 cable, but there is no response. Doesn't matter too much, because there is no command to reset the lamp counter or do something useful for my problem.

BenQ TH530 Projector: Can fan be replaced with quieter model?

This is a relatively low budget projector, and one of the main drawbacks is the pretty loud fan. Anybody opened one of these? I'm curious what size the fan is, and whether I could replace it with something quieter and potentially more performant, like one of those smaller Noctua fans (I believe they're part of the Industrial series).

I've only had it for a few months, and with just a few (200ish) hours of playtime, it's getting considerably louder. I could send it in service for a good scrubbing, this should be covered by the warranty, or I could convince them to do it, but they will return it with the same bad fan and I will have the same problem over and over again, so I'm thinking fan swap and filter.

Let me know if you've had a look inside or found some details over the web, thanks in advance!
